World Poker Tour kicks off inaugural WPT Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City

The next leg of the “Asia Swing” brings the World Poker Tour to Ho Chi Minh City for their inaugural festival in Vietnam. This year has been a busy one for the players in the country with the floodgates opening and poker tours jumping at the chance to showcase their events to this young, vibrant market. Past festivals have all been extremely successful with guaranteed events surpassing their targets with flying colors.

WPT Vietnam is the next to dazzle the community. The inaugural event is currently underway at Pro Poker Club, inarguably the most popular poker room in the country. Unlike most international events held in Asia, the venue is a standalone room and not a casino to many players’ surprise. It is divided into two floors with most of the action taking place at ground level. There are 35 tables including one feature table.

We will likely see a majority of these players run the full course of the nine-day festival taking place from September 26 to October 4. There are 14 events throughout to keep everyone busy at the tables. The biggest attraction will of course be the VND 8 Billion Guaranteed MAIN EVENT. Buy-in is VND 22,000,000 (~US$950). This event runs a total of five days from September 28 to October 2. Three starting days kick off the action followed by Day 2 and the Final Day.
