A new live poker series will be getting introduced in less than one week in one of the hotbeds of the Asia-Pacific region. The inaugural Vietnam International Poker Tour (VIPT) is set to take place from April 19 to 29, 2024, and it is an in-house product of the Royal Poker Club in HaNoi.

Vietnam International Poker Tour
Info on the first-ever Vietnam International Poker Tour (VIPT) emerged on the brand’s Facebook page and the tournament schedule was an ambitious one at first glance. Throughout a total of 37 tournaments, the series features guarantees of VN₫ 40 Billion (~USD 1.6 Million) and no winning fee will be collected. There is something for everyone available even beyond the usual No-Limit Hold’em as the series also includes Pot-Limit Omaha, Short Deck and All-In or Fold tournaments.

VIPT Hanoi Main Event
One quarter of the festival guarantee, VN₫ 10 Billion (~USD 400,000) to be exact, is reserved for the VIPT Hanoi Main Event, which costs VN₫ 22 Million (~USD 880) to enter. The flagship tournament kicks off on April 25 and has a total of four starting flights across three consecutive days. All level durations differ as the opening Day 1A has 45 minutes levels whereas they increase by 5 minutes each for Day 1B and Day 1C. The turbo heat Day 1D then comes with 25-minute levels as the last chance to qualify for Day 2.
On the penultimate tournament day, the structure reverts back to 45 minute levels with 60/30 minutes reserved for the final day. All players start with 40,000 in chips and the late registration is open for the first ten levels on every Day 1.

Right on the first day, two events come with juicy prize pools up for grabs as the VN₫ 5.5 Million (~USD 225) buy in Kick Off and the High Roller Warm Up with a buy-in of VN₫ 22 Million (~USD 880) take place. The latter is a one-day event with a VN₫ 3 Billion (~USD 120,000) guarantee and the conclusion will be streamed on the Royal Poker Club Facebook page.
Saturday, April 20, also features one of the more pricy events in the High Roller Single Day, which costs VN₫ 33 Million (~USD 1,347) to enter – the guarantee is set for VN₫ 1.2 Billion (~USD 47,930). On Sunday, April 21 is the VN₫ 44 Million (~USD 1,795) buy in High Roller Championship with it at least a VN₫ 1.5 Billion (~USD 59,900) in prize money.
There are also plenty of bargain tournaments available for those with a smaller budget. Perhaps one of the most eye-watering of them is the Vietnam Open, which runs from April 22 until April 24. For a buy-in of just VN₫ 8.8 Million (~USD 360), poker enthusiasts from near and can compete for VN₫ 4.5 Billion (~USD 179,700) in prize money!
Likewise, the two-day Mini Main Event with a bargain buy-in of VN₫ 7.7 Million (~USD 315) features 30,000 in chips and a clock of 25 to 35 minutes on two starting days as well as the final day. At least VN₫ 2 Billion (~USD 79,900) are up for grabs on April 24 and 25.
Last but not least, the Double Stack Event #31 comes with a buy-in of just VN₫ 11 Million (~USD 449) and two starting days on the penultimate day of the series, Sunday, April 28, 2024. The guarantee is set for VN₫ 2 Billion (~USD 79,880) and the lion’s share of that will be distributed on April 29 when the series wraps up.

The buy-in of VN₫ 44 Million (~USD 1,757) may sound familiar and it will also be the case for the two-day High Roller Megastack on April 22 and 23. The guarantee is set at VN₫ 2.5 Billion (~USD 99,850)
Even more expensive is Event #20 Super High Roller, which costs VN₫ 66 Million (~USD 2,693). to enter. This will be a one-day tournament with 35-minute levels and 11 levels of late registration, a live stream will be available.
The most pricy tournament of the schedule is then Event #24 Super Star Challenge, which commences on April 25 and concludes the next day. For a buy-in of VN₫ 88 Million (~USD 3,591), all participants will battle for at least VN₫ 2 Billion (~USD 79,880) in prize money.
On the final two days of the series, another two High Roller contests round up the schedule. The two-day High Roller Finale comes with a buy-in of VN₫ 55 Million (~USD 2,244) and registration will be possible into the final day on Monday, April 29, 2024. That’s also when Event #35 High Roller Last Chance takes place – featuring a price tag of VN₫ 33 Million (~USD 1,346).
