Viet Nam Series of Poker announces biggest series yet featuring VN₫ 6 Billion in guaranteed prize pools; Asia Poker League to sponsor two events

Having completed a highly successful series last month, the Viet Nam Series of Poker in Hanoi, Vietnam announced its biggest festival yet and it is just around the bend. Coming May 2 to 8 is VSOP Championship IV featuring VN₫ 6,000,000,000 (~US$ 261,238) in guaranteed prize pools, the largest amount ever put forth by the brand. 14 events are lined up with buy ins from VN₫ 1.2 Million to VN₫ 33 Million. Headlining the series is the VSOP Championship Main Event highlighted by its VN₫ 2.5 Billion guarantee. Among the other events to conquer are the Super Stars Challenge and two Asia Poker League sponsored tournaments. 


For International travelers interested in attending the series, borders are open to fully vaccinated individuals. Also needed is a negative RT-PCR test result obtained within 72 hours of arrival. The star of the series is the VSOP Championship Main Event featuring a lucrative VN₫ 2.5 Billion (~US$ 108,850) guarantee. It runs from May 6 to 8 with two starting days to enter. Buy in is VN₫ 11,000,000 (~US$ 480). To emphasize the popularity of this event, at the previous edition, the guarantee was half a billion less and the prize pool ballooned to over VN₫ 4.58 Billion. Vietnam’s Phạm Tiên Dũng outlasted the 478 entry field for a sizable VN₫ 900,800,000 (~US$ 39.2K) payday.

Kick-Off Event

To get your bankroll off to a good start, the series opens with the Kick-Off Event featuring a VN₫ 1 Billion guarantee. This too surpassed its guarantee at the previous edition with 318 entries. Buy in is VN₫ 5,500,000 (~US$ 240), there are three flights to enter.

Super Stars Challenge

If you want to test your skills against some of the country’s best, then this is the event to put your money on. The Super Stars Challenge is the most costly of the bunch with buy in set at VN₫ 33,000,000 (~US$ 1,437). The guarantee is VN₫ 500,000,000 (~US$ 21,770). It runs on May 6.
