The mood is electric here at the first ever U Series of Poker live festival! At 1pm (Taiwan time) the USOP: Poker2U Taiwan Series got underway at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) in Taipei City.
Opening the festivities was the TWD 2,000,000 (~$65,260) guaranteed Kick Off event with over 50 players quickly pulling up seats for Flight A. That number has since doubled. This is the first of five tournaments featuring a guarantee. There is still plenty of time to join the action with Flight A registration closing at 6:20pm and Flight B (Turbo) closing at 9:40pm. Buy in is TWD 8,000 (~$260).
As added incentive, players that purchased the Early Bird Premium Package received a goodie bag filled with exclusive brand merchandise that included a Poker2U jacket, Poker2U cap, USOP power bank, playing cards, masks, and stickers. Taking a sweep of the field, quite a number of international players have made their way to the series. Among those in the crowd were Shyh Chyn Lim, Duy Ho, Benedict Koh, Diego Iglesias from Spain, and UPoker player Yesniyazov Murat who flew in from Kazakhstan. Among the locals were En Ching Wu, Fu Bang Huang, Chung Yi Ho, Kun Han Lee, and Chia Yun Wu.
The opening level was exciting for the early goers with everyone seated eligible to win the Lucky Draw. Malaysia’s Mandy Lim emerged the luckiest to win a seat to the Mystery Bounty Flight A worth TWD 10,000 (~$330).
The inaugural USOP: Poker2U Taiwan Series runs from February 10 to 19. A guaranteed TWD 20,000,000 (~$65,260) awaits players and 23 event trophies up for grabs. Players will find that the schedule has something for every bankroll with buy ins ranging from TWD 8,000 (~$265) to TWD 66,000 (~$2,190). Key events to list down:
