USOP Hai Phong Day 6 Winners: Nang Quang Nguyen, Baiyu Ni, William Teoh, Xiaotong Yu, Nguyen Tan Phuong,

 

The U Series Of Poker completed Day 6 of festivities at USOP Hai Phong and again, another batch of players walked away minted. The biggest winner was Nang Quang Nguyen at the High Roller Sunday Special. Read up on the post on that event.

Also raising trophies were William Teoh, Xiaotong Yu, Nguyen Tan Phuong, and Baiyu Ni for his second win. Ni is now the third player to achieve this at the ongoing series.

If you are just hearing of this festival, it is the first poker event to be held in Hai Phong, Vietnam. Cards went flying at the Dream Dragon Resort on September 11 and will run through September 23, 2024.

Out of the 66 trophies up for grabs, 31 have been claimed. The most coveted one is of course the Main Event which stands regal awaiting its champion. That runs September 19 to 23, 2024

USOP Player of the series ring

Another exciting race is for the Player Of The Series (POTS) title. Xinxing Tang maintains the top spot with 1500 points (4 cashes), Wenjie Ren has slid into second rank with 1125 points (3 cashes), Ton Le Thanh Long and Baiyu Ni share the third spot with 1000 points. The player with the most points at the end of the festival wins the exclusve POTS Ring.

Baiyu Ni Wins Second Trophy

It may have been a small one but still a good one! China’s Baiyu Ni raised his second trophy this series after winning the 8-Handed Hyper Turbo event. The 9-entry field only paid out one player. Ni shipped it adding VN₫ 67,680,000 (~US$ 2,755) to his earlier winnings.

William Teoh Wins Mini High Roller

Another very late night, or shall we say early morning at the Mini High Roller event with the champion crowned past the crack of dawn. Emerging victorious out of the 82 entry field was Malaysia’s William Teoh for an ICM payout heads up deal of VN₫ 451,780,000 (~US$ 18,400). Teoh has been hunting down a title since day 2 of the festival and finally snatched it. Just a few weeks back, Teoh won a WSOP Online bracelet. Good run for the pro this month!

Xiaotong Yu Stands Tall At The Freezeout

118 players filled up a portion of the floor for the lone Freezeout event on the schedule. With only one bullet allowed, every decision carried extra weight. In the end, China’s Xiaotong Yu prevailed for his career first live title and a payout of VN₫ 200,000,000 (~$8,160). This was Yu’s fourth series cash. He is currently ranked 16th in the POTS race.

One of the most exciting side events was Run It Twice where players have the option of running the board again in hopes of changing the first outcome. The event wrapped up with Nguyen Tan Phuong securing his first win and a payout of VN₫ 63,000,000 (~US$ 2,565).
