USOP Danang MAIN EVENT Day 1B draws 382 entries; India’s Meherzad Munsaf bags chip lead

India’s Meherzad Munsaf stole the spotlight at Day 1B of the U Series of Poker MAIN EVENT as he topped the 48 Day 1B survivors with a chip stack of 989,000 (65 bb). Munsaf has been seen at the festival since opening day with a few cashes already under his belt. Getting warmed up proved very effective as he earned the second overall spot in the Day 2 chip counts. Multi-decorated USOP high roller champion Hoang Hai Nam bagged up the heat’s second largest of 854,000 (57 bb).

Other players seen in action were USOP Main Event champions Edwin Dela Cruz and Vishal Ojha. For the latter Ojha, he bagged up 314,000 (21 bb) however not so fortunate for Dela Cruz who fell on the bubble. During the hand, WPT Prime Vietnam champion Nguyen Duy Thuc three-bet jammed with Ah5h, Dela Cruz risked his lesser 11 bb stack with JcJs, the board ran Qh2h7h9h10c for a victorious nut flush to Nguyen.

USOP is ongoing beachside at Furama Resort in the stunning coastal destination of Danang, Vietnam. The second of four heats drew 382 to bring the cumulative total to 690 entries. With buy in at VN₫ 25,00,000 (~$1,057), the guarantee has been reached and any entry from here on is icing!

Next up are the final two flights, Day 1C and Day 1D (turbo), both taking place on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 12pm and 6pm. Expect the lines to be long and a wall to wall house so get there early to avoid being an alternate. As added perk, players seated during Level 1 will receive a USOP hoodie in yellow or blue while supplies last.
