Upcoming events in Asia: APT Philippines, VSOP Championship IV; WPT Prime Vietnam; India Poker Championships

Live events continue to light up the Asian poker scene. Here are events right at your doorstep.  

Asian Poker Tour Philippines – April 27 to May 8

No breaks for the Asian Poker Tour! Just ten days after completing an inaugural series in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, the brand is set to stage APT Philippines at their main hub in Resorts World Manila. This is one of the APT’s most popular stops with 11 years of games held on location.

The festival runs a course of twelve days from April 27 to May 8 featuring a massive Php 25 Million (~US$ 478,175) in guaranteed prize pools. The highly revered APT Main Event will be the tournament to conquer, and for this series, it is backed by an ambitious Php 15 Million (~US$ 286,900) guarantee. The amount is a third larger than the previous installment. In total, 23 events fill the schedule with buy-ins from Php 5,500 (~US$ 105) to the highest of Php 107,500 (~US$ 2,056). International players planning to fly in for this event, the country is open to fully vaccinated individuals and an RT-PCT test negative result is required taken within 48 hours of arrival.

Viet Nam Series of Poker Championship IV – May 2 to 8

The Viet Nam Series of Poker Hanoi gears up for another thrilling homegrown festival and it promises to be bigger than ever. Running from May 2 to 8 is the VSOP Championship IV featuring VN₫ 6 Billion (~US$ 261,238) in guaranteed prize pools. This is the largest figure ever offered by the brand. The bulk of VN₫ 2.5 Billion (~US$ 108,850) is reserved for the Main Event which runs from May 6 to 8.

At the previous edition, the main paid out over VN₫ 4.5 Billion, a figure the brand intends to surpass. Other games to look forward to are the Asia Poker League sponsored events featuring combined guarantees of VN₫ 800,000,000 (~US$ 39,185). In total, 14 events fill the roster with buy ins from VN₫ 1.2 Million (~US$ 52) to VN₫ 33 Million (~US$ 1,436). World Poker Tour Prime Vietnam – May 19 to 30

On May 19 to 30, globally renowned brand World Poker Tour will launch its much awaited new tour, WPT Prime in Hanoi, Vietnam. This will be the world’s first look at the series. Twelve days of festivities are lined up at the Crown Poker Club, located in the heart of the capital city.

India Poker Championship Megastacks – May 17 to 22

The India Poker Championship returns to the live arena with six days of games ready to fill everyone’s appetite. The upcoming event is coined IPC Megastacks featuring an ambitious IN₹ 3.5 Crores (~US$ 456,373) in guaranteed prize pools.

Unlike most live events in India, this event takes place on terra at Casino Vegas within the premises of Hotel Mechi Crown in Dhulabari, Nepal.
