Upcoming Asia Live Events: APT Vietnam Phu Quoc, APL Korea; CTP High Roller Series, Deltin Poker Tournament

The month of April has kicked off and with it a lineup of live events around the Asian region. Here’s a list of festivals in your neighborhood. 

Asian Poker Tour Vietnam Phu Quoc: April 8 to 17

For the first time, an international poker festival will take place at Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. On April 8 to 17, the Asian Poker Tour will descend on the popular tourist destination with 22 games scheduled at the Corona Resort & Casino.

Opening the series is the two day Mystery Bounty 1 Billion VN₫ guaranteed followed by the headliner 3 Billion VN₫ guaranteed Main Event. Among the other games to look forward to are High Roller events, NLH Monster Stack, NLH Turbos, Pot Limit Omaha, Open Face Chinese Pineapple, and Short Deck. This is considerably the most varied schedule ever presented by the brand. Buy ins range from VN₫ 5,500,000 (~US$ 240) to VN₫ 55,000,00 (~US$ 2,400). 

Prior to action on the felt is action on the live green. In partnership with Pearl Island Poker Tour is the first ever APT – PIPT Golf Tournament. Tee off is at Vinpearl Resort & Golf on April 7 at 1230pm. Cost is VN₫ 2,050,000 which includes Green Fee, Caddy, and half cart. This is followed by awarding and pre-event celebration at the Corona Hotel. 

For international travelers, last March 15 Vietnam opened its borders to fully vaccinated tourists. Make sure to check for other requirements as it may vary per country.

Asia Poker League Korea: April 9 to 17 (Main Event flights)

Throughout the pandemic, players in Korea could rely on the Asia Poker League for consistent live action along with matching big prize pools. Coming May 5 to 8, the brand will be on the beat once again featuring the APL Korea Main Event which packs an enormous KR₩ 800 Million (~US$ 655,860) guarantee. The event takes place at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Seoul.

CTP High Roller Series: April 9 to 18

The highly popular Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association aka CTP Club in Taipei, Taiwan is ready to shower its players with another exciting poker festival. On April 9 to 18 is the CTP High Roller Series featuring NT$ 6,000,000 (~US$ 210,000) in guaranteed prize pools.

A total of 19 tournaments are lined up with buy ins from NT$ 5,000 (~US$ 175) to the Super High Roller NT$ 107,000 (~US$ 3,730). The crowning tournament is of course the NT$ 3M guaranteed Main Event. The Deltin Poker Tournament is prepping for its first live series since the pandemic struck. As always, games will take place at the brand’s hub in the Deltin Royale vessel in Goa, India. Scheduled to run from April 14 to 19, the festival boasts IN₹ 2 Crore (~US$ 264,000) in guaranteed prizes across six events. Buy ins range from IN₹ 10K to IN₹ 65K.

In 2019, the DPT pulled in a tour record 448 Main Event entries, and generated a prize pool of US$ 217.4K.
