Tom Dwan in 2016: High Stakes Cash Games and Triton Super High Roller Series

For several months now, American pro Tom Dwan “Durrrr” has vanished from the poker limelight begging the question by many, where is Tom? Unlike most of the poker elites in the scene, Dwan has not been seen publicly, nor has he attended any international event, not even the WSOP.

As a result, rumors, speculations, and theories have arisen, with some stories even driving on the absurd. Well, everyone can now be at peace as saving Tom is not necessary. He is alive and well, and was recently spotted at the Triton Super High Roller Series in Manila where he was tabled with other American pros such as Erik Seidel and Daniel “Jungleman” Cates.

Poker King Club and Tom Dwan

It is no secret that Dwan is an avid supporter of Poker King Club. Dwan started attending their high stakes cash games over six years ago and continues to do so until today. Due to the camaraderie he’s established with the Asian VIPs, he has become one of the most welcomed and invited pro to their big games.

According to Poker King Club President and CEO, Winfred Yu,Tom has access to the big games because he is a very likable guy and he gives a lot of action. VIPs love his action. I’ve read many stories about Tom being kidnapped or is part of the Triad, and people staking him, that’s totally not true.”

During his supposed “MIA” years, it is true, Dwan was hitting the felt in Macau, even hired a Mandarin teacher to learn how to speak the language. However these days, Dwan spends most of his time hitting the poker green in Manila.

This past summer, Dwan also hit the VIP tables in Montenegro playing the high stakes cash games and a lot of Six-plus Hold’em.

At the ongoing Triton SHR, Dwan entered the Suncity Cup HKD 200K Freezeout event, jumping in as one of the late arrivals.

His run didn’t last very long, failing to reach the money round. Yet despite his quick departure, he will most likely be making his way back to the more lucrative and exclusive high stakes cash games at the VIP rooms.

So for everyone on the hunt for Dwan, hunt no more. He may not be joining the high rollers tournament bandwagon but he is most definitely active in the exclusive poker arena.
