China’s Tianhao Zheng emerged victorious at the Championship Event to seize the largest first place payout to date here at USOP Hai Phong of VN₫ 2,200,000,000 (~US$ 89,630)! This was Zheng’s second series cash and first ever USOP win.

Just before entering heads up, Zheng and Nguyen Trung Ha were running near even while Jun Zhao needed two double ups just to catch up. That moment did not arrive, instead Zheng cleaned him out in 3rd place with QdJc finding the river 6d10d9s6hJd to bust Zhao’s Ac4d.

Heads up against Nguyen opened with both very deep that it took almost one hour to wrap up. Zheng chipped away at Nguyen’s stack to build a 4:1 advantage. Nguyen found a little hope on a double up with JsJd over Qc10c but it was short-lived. The final hand was dealt.

Zheng limped with {ts}8h, Nguyen checked holding Jh7d. The flop came 6dJc9d, Nguyen check-raised and got called. Both players checked the turn 5d. Then on the river Qc, Nguyen bet, Zheng pushed, Nguyen called for his tournament life and fell to the straight.
