The Asian Poker Tour releases schedule for early 2021 – three live festivals and one online series in four different countries

Good news is in store for live poker enthusiasts looking for more tournament action this approaching new year. While the live poker buzz has ultimately slowed down this 2020 due to the unfortunate health situation, it seems that operators around the globe are eager to get back into the scheme of things. A renowned host, having established a following most especially in the Asia Pacific region, the Asian Poker Tour announced its awaited schedule for the first quarter of this coming 2021.

Live and online festivals announced

Consisting of three live festivals and one online series, the games will be featured across four different countries beginning with the APT India Online Series this coming January 15th – 26th, 2020 on PokerBaazi.com. The online series will feature 48 tournaments and will cover a total of 8 crore (~USD 1.09 million) in guarantees in addition to the 15 trophies and 4 rings to be awarded. The anticipated event will then be followed by the APT Taiwan live series in February, APT Vietnam in March and APT Philippines in April.

Despite the health risks tied with live poker, APT has successfully carried out two festivals this last October – November. The APT Taichung Championships and APT x Taiwan Millions Tournament Season 9 was met with much excitement and ended with local Chen An Lin scooping up the Main Event for a larger payout deal of NT$ 1,205,000 (~US$ 42,100) and a CTP Platinum Pass worth NT$ 25,000. This not only gives the operator an overview of what to expect of the situation but also interested players looking to join next year’s games.

APT General Manager and Executive Tournament Director Lloyd Fontillas noted, “First quarter of 2021 is already locked up because of the great partners we have. We hope that travel opens up in time for all the live venues to accept international players that we miss catering to. In the meantime happy holidays everyone, keep safe and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year!”
