Anticipated return of WPT Australia runs September 14 to 27 at The Star Gold Coast

We are on the cusp of WPT Australia, just several days away! From September 14 to 27, 2023, the place to be is undoubtedly The Star Gold Coast where the World Poker Tour (WPT) is set to host its Main Tour for the second consecutive year.

Since the complete schedule was unveiled back in May, anticipation has been soaring, and optimism running high for an even larger turnout and a more substantial prize pool compared to its inaugural edition. It will be a tall order though. Last year’s numbers were incredibly impressive. The festival amassed a staggering prize pool of A$ 8.6 Million (~USD 5.7M) of which A$ 3.55 Million (~USD 2.3M) was paid out at the Main Event.

Enhancing the thrill, the renowned Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup will once again make its grand appearance. Following the tradition of all WPT Main Tours, the prestigious Main Event serves not only to crown the next winner but also to etch their name onto the illustrious tower of champions. Last year, David Tang earned that honor after he outlasted a field of 710 entries. The Main Event runs from September 22 to 27, 2023. Buy in is A$ 8,000 (~USD 5,170).

Aside from the Main Event is a lineup of 15 trophy events covering a variety of buy ins from A$ 565 (~USD 365) to the highest of A$ 20,000 (~USD 12,925). Certain to be even more popular this year is the Shane Warne One Day Perpetual Trophy Charity Event with The Star Gold Coast adding in a fun twist – a Best Dressed Competition. The top three Shane Warne inspired outfits will win f&b vouchers. For more info, head to the link below.
