On its 15th running, the Taiwan Millions Tournament held at Asia Poker Arena – CTP Poker Club, Taipei, Taiwan, kicked off its festivities last January 19th and is currently on the second half of its series. Slated to run through February 5, it’s still not too late to catch the action with the crown jewel of the festival, the NTD 10,000,000 (~USD 321,000) guaranteed Main Event geared to play down in the remaining six days. The burly guarantee stands to be the biggest listed prize pool on schedule, taking up half of the NTD 20,000,000 (~USD 642,000) guaranteed festival pot.

Five qualifiers complete the Main Event run with the early bird flight, Day 1A booking a chart topping 707 entries. The staggering turnout hints at a record breaking Main Event surpassing last season’s massive 3,485 attendance with five more flights to go. Last year’s games saw local runner Chia Yun Wu bag the Main Event victory after defeating Wei Kai Su in heads up play. Chia took home a jaw-dropping career high of NTD 3,600,000 (~USD 114,900) for outlasting the tour’s largest field and claim the lion’s share of the NTD 22,987,100 (~USD 733,700) prize pool.

The brand’s partnership with Asia’s largest online poker room, Natural8, ushers in continuous growth for the budding series with the field stemming out into the international tournament scene time and time again. This season’s festivities saw 365 Main Event seats awarded via the platform which includes 40 entries sponsored by the site across several online satellites. With more players expected to flock in across the remaining Day 1’s, the TMT 15 Main Event is definitely not one to miss as the series heads on for another eye-catching tournament to top the tour’s history.
