Richest Vietnam Series of Poker Championship featuring ₫12 Billion in guarantees; Passport to APT Da Nang up for grabs

Homegrown poker festivals are thriving in Vietnam, and in just a couple of weeks, the place to be is the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) Championship VI. Pegged by players as the coolest looking poker room in Hanoi, the VSOP’s upcoming series features a lucrative ₫12 Billion (~$483,000) in combined guarantees. This is the richest Championship series prize pool announced by the poker room, up ₫2 Billion from its previous edition.

Adding to the event’s appeal are the buy ins which accommodates players of all types of bankrolls. Tournaments start from as low as ₫2.3 Million (~$92) to ₫55 Million (~$2,200). In total, 20 titles are up for grabs including the series highlight ₫5 Billion guaranteed Main Event. Mark your calendars as the ten-day series draws near, running from November 18 to 27, 2022.

This year has been tremendous for the VSOP with its homegrown festival guarantees rising in just several months from ₫2 Billion to a mighty ₫10 Billion. In July, the room experienced its first international festival with the Asian Poker Tour hosting a ten-day series that eventually paid out an enormous ₫43.8 Billion (~$1.86+ Million).

VSOP Championship VI – full schedule

MAIN EVENT – ₫5 Billion guaranteed

The VSOP Championship VI presents a long list of guaranteed prize pools, the biggest of course is designated for the Main Event which brings in a ₫5,000,000,000 (~$201,200) guarantee. To ensure big returns, this event pays out 10% of the field and the eventual champion will win an APT Da Nang Passport inclusive of a Main Event ticket worth ₫33,000,000, round trip airfare, and hotel accommodations for three nights. 

The Main Event kicks off with three starting days plus a turbo flight. This is followed by Day 2 and the Final 8. Buy in is ₫16.5 Million (~$665). It runs from November 22 to 26. 

Promo alert! It pays to sign up early with two incentives to take advantage of. The first nine registered players of Day 1A will receive the Early Bird special which means FREE RAKE. In addition, players that register before the end of Level 1 of Day 1A and of Day 1B are automatically awarded Bubble Protection. For those new to the bubble protection promo, you receive your buy in back if you bust during the bubble round without any pay. 

VIETNAM NATIONAL CUP – ₫2 Billion guaranteed

The Vietnam National Cup brings in the second largest guarantee featuring a ₫2,000,000,000 (~$80,480) prize pool. It takes place on the tail end of the series, running from November 25 to 27 with two starting days offered. Unlike all the other events, this one only allows two re-entries per day. Buy in is ₫22 Million (~$885). 

Promo alert! Just like the Main Event, it pays to sign up early to this event with two promos to take advantage of. For Day 1A registrants only, Early Bird special applies which means FREE RAKE. In addition, for players that register before the end of Level 1 of Day 1A, you are eligible for Bubble Protection. MYSTERY BOUNTY KICK-OFF – ₫1.5 Billion guaranteed

The festival opens with the Mystery Bounty Kick-Off, by far the most popular headhunter tournament these days. Unlike other bounty events, only players that reach ITM have a chance at the bounty rewards. The amount of each reward remains a secret until it is drawn. For this series, the event features a ₫1,500,000,000 (~$60,360) guaranteed prize pool. Buy in is ₫6,600,000 (~$265). 

Guaranteed events – ₫400 Million to ₫600 Million

In addition to the above-mentioned events are numerous million dong guaranteed prize pools. The upper end features guarantees from ₫400 Million to ₫600 Million, we have those listed below. The remaining guarantees of ₫100 Million to ₫300 Million are all Bounty tournaments.
