Mac Mantos, a Filipino rookie player, is a testament to the power of dedication in the Philippine poker scene. With four live tournaments to his name, he has shown a commitment that is both admirable and inspiring.
Mantos’ first professional poker experience occurred in 2012 when he participated in APT Cebu, placing 19th in the Main Event for a prize pot of PHP 113,000 (USD 2,628). He then took a decade-long break, returning to poker in 2023 at APPT Manila and again placing 19th but besting his live cash with a win of PHP 138,000 (USD 2,514).
Mantos moved up the ladder in May 2024 when he played the Chase Cup Mystery Bounty in Mandaue City. He placed fourth and earned PHP 81,900 (USD 1,436).

Tricia David has long experience as a recreational poker player and has been covering poker events since 2010 for numerous outfits in Asia. She spent one year working part time with Poker Portal Asia then became editor and lead writer for all event coverage of the Philippine Poker Tour (PPT). Under the PPT, she overlooked content for their website, and produced live updates on all their events.
