Main Event Day 2 recap

Returning to the felt in Day 2 were the 156 qualifiers from the combined three opening heats. They filled 19 of the 21 tables in the room. Leading them in were Huynh Tan Dung aka Pegasus and Christopher Mateo both with 226x the opening big blind. By the close of registration, 29 signed up for a total 373 entries.

Once the freezeout stage began, the dropouts were fast. Mateo was one of them while Pegasus was piling it in. As the field compressed, new chip leaders emerged, Nguyen Van Dung and Rubin Labroo.

It wasn’t until they neared the money did the reigning WPT champion Vincent Chauve come out of slumber. He picked up multiple big pots, railed numerous players, and took advantage of the bubble round.

He amassed an enormous stack and after 45 minutes of hand-for -hand, he delivered the bubble railing Hieu Ngo.

With the money reached, short stacks fell in succession. Hamish Crawshaw and Aditya Agarwal climbed up the ranks.
