World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Taiwan completed another day at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City with three players claiming their first ever WPT trophy. The day also wrapped up with the Main Event Warm Up amassing a handsome TWD 5,389,600 ~(USD 169,400) prize pool. We’ve got all those stories for you, just scroll down.

Event 1: Main Event Warm Up – Day 1C results

Day 1C of the Main Event Warm Up drew the largest field of 267 entries to amass a combined 635 total entries. With the guarantee already surpassed at Day 1B, the turnout was added icing, boosting the prize pool to TWD 5,389,600 ~(USD 169,400). A total of 81 players advanced to the final day, and while each one stands to earn a minimum TWD 16,500 (~USD 520), all eyes are on the grand prize of TWD 984,600 (~USD 30,950).

Among the heat’s 34 survivors were notables David Erquiaga, Hua Wei Lin (pictured above), and Chien Chih Weng. Bagging the chip lead was Japan’s Shingo Horikoshi with a huge 696,000 stack, equivalent to 58 bb. Horikoshi will enter Day 2 as the overall chip leader. Day 1A chip leader Alan Wong was bumped down to third rank, and Day 1B chip leader Yih Chia Shaw was further down in 14th rank. You can view the survivor list via the link provided.

At yesterday’s Mini Superstack Classic Day 1, 110 entered for a prize pool of TWD 660,000 (~USD 20,745). The event played down to ITM of 14 players with Hsuan Chao Chen bagging a towering stack. On Day 2, Chen gave it his best but ultimately bowed out in 5th place. The spotlight shined on Zhe Wei Chen who shipped it for his first ever international win and a cool TWD 106,3000 (~USD 3,340) payout.

Event 6: Single Day High Roller Warm Up

Australian player Julian Warhurst has been having a successful trip in Asia with numerous deep runs since his arrival in May. He was finally able to turn one into a career first WPT title at the Single Day High Roller. Warhurst outlasted a field of 33, denying hot running Taiwan playerChao Ting Chengat heads up to lift the trophy and claim the TWD 597,000 (~USD 18,765) top prize.

Hong Kong player Ka Shung Tsang was also the proud owner of a WPT trophy. Tsang overcame the 108 entry field of the Megastack Turbo to earn his first ever live win which came with a payout of TWD 160,200 (~USD 5,035). Impressively, Tsang’s live run began in June this year, and has already racked up 12 cashes of which 9 were final table finishes.
