WPT Prime Cambodia – Meet-Up Game and Main Event coming up!
As WPT Prime Cambodia enters the halfway mark, two events to secure a spot in are the highly anticipated Meet-Up Game (MUG) with Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen and the star of the show Main Event featuring a US$ 500,000 guarantee.
Meet-Up Game with Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen
If you are just hearing of the Meet-Up Game, this fun and unique event was created in 2017 by famous vloggers Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen as a way to get to know players over a casual cash game. Through the years the MUG has gained in popularity with the duo invited to numerous places around the world. In 2022, the pair signed on as WPT Brand Ambassadors and the first Meet Up Game in Asia was held in Phnom Penh with Neeme going solo.
This year’s MUG will see Neeme return and will be joined by Brad Owen. The event takes place on March 15 at 1:00 pm Cambodia time. A minimum of 12 cash tables of No Limit Hold’em will run with stakes of $1/$3 and $2/$5. It will be followed with a Meet & Greet from 8:30 – 10:00 pm with complimentary food and drinks.
Main Event – US$ 500,000 guarantee
Tremendous start for Season XXI of the World Poker Tour’s Prime Series. Kicking off in Paris, France, the Main Event drew 1,071 entries to surpass its previous record of 1,050 set at Season XX of WPT Prime Cambodia. While the achievement was greatly celebrated, its glory was brief. In early-March, WPT Prime Gold Coast amassed an even larger 1,224 field to take over the top spot.
With the tour now back at NagaWorld Integrated Resorts in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and games underway since March 9, the possibility of beating the current record is high. Over the past five days, players have poured in, generating side event fields and prize pools much bigger than last year. This gives every indication of a huge Main Event up ahead.
The Main Event runs from March 16 to 20. Buy in is US$ 1,100. Players have three starting days to try to qualify for Day 2 and have a share of the US$ 500,000 guaranteed prize pool. Last year, the 1,050 entry field boosted the prize pool over double to US$ 1,018,500 with the champion, David Erquiaga, pocketing US$ 137,000.
