WPT Philippines latest event winners: Xin Lin, Nicholas Lim, and Joshua Chargualaf
While players await the start of the main feature, for now it’s all about warming up at the WPT Philippines side events. Four players have already been hailed champions and another three joined the list last night. We’ve got those results below including info and news on the series.
Event 5: Deepstack NLH – Xin Lin – Php 260,000 (~US$ 5,100)
The Deepstack NLH drove 110 to action with 24 re-entering for a 135 entries in total. China’s Xin Lin came out on top for his first live tournament win. He picked up Php 260,000 making this his largest live career score.

One of the mid-range events on offer was the Pot Limit Omaha at Php 20,000. Nicholas Lim proved his worth rising above the 43 entry field that included Anthony Abram who finished in 5th place. Lim earned Php 293,000, and with no prior stats listed, this may well have been his first live achievement.

The evening brought in ample action to the tables with 53 players for the NLH Freezeout. Recreational live tournament player Guam’s Joshua Chargualaf added another deep run to his success in the Philippines. He picked up his fourth career win and first WPT title.

Up ahead at WPT Philippines
WPT Philippines has been running since February 6th at the luxurious Okada Manila and is scheduled to conclude on February 17th. The festival offers 21 games of varying buy-ins and formats to accommodate all types of players. The top attraction is the Main Event taking place from February 14 to 17. It comes with a Php 12,000,000 (~US$ 237,500) guarantee. Buy-in is Php 75,000 (~US$ 1,500).
Also to look forward to are the High Roller events with buy-ins going from Php 150,000, Php 200,000 and Php 500,000.

News update
Looks like WPT Philippines numbers will further be compromised. Due to the serious threat of NCOV, the country imposed a temporary travel ban to and from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. Confirmed today, the Philippine Government added Taiwan to the list. Only Filipino nationals and those carrying a Filipino resident visa will be allowed to enter from Taiwan. Also, Filipinos are banned from traveling to Taiwan at this time.
