USOP Poker2U Taiwan Series: Final 11 hunt down Main Event title and TWD 3M top prize; Super High Roller still open
After nine incredible days of poker at the U Series of Poker – Poker 2U Taiwan Series, the festival enters its final day at host venue Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) in Taipei City.
Ongoing since February 10, the excitement culminates with the crowning of its first ever USOP live series Main Event champion. In contention are 11 players, each one guaranteed TWD 241,300 (~$7,950) but determined to claim the coveted title, trophy, and TWD 3,060,000 (~$100,000) top prize. The pack will be led in by Jia Song Liu 劉家菘with 50 BB. Liu is one of four players looking to make Taiwan proud. He is joined by fellow countryman Yu Che Liu 劉運哲 who was another driving force at the felt, bagging up the second largest stack of 44 BB. Down the rung is hot running high rollerKun Han Lee 李昆翰,eyes will be on him as he attempts to add another title to his long list of home turf victories. Lee will be favored as he comes in with 27 BB. To complete the Taiwanese lineup is Yao Te Tsai with 21 BB.
The Malaysians have come in full force to the inaugural series and like Taiwan, four are in the final 11 lineup. Beng Wei Ong known by his friends as Tiger, is the country’s torchbearer with 31 BB. Ong had a solid Day 2, knocking out numerous players to amass the chip lead for a few levels. Joining him are Tiong Lek Lim (27 BB), the quiet yet dangerous Eric Chan (20 BB) and Jason Lee (10 BB) who brings in plenty of fighting spirit.
Two players from the Philippines are in the mix, Edwin Dela Cruz with a solid 41 BB. Cruz bagged the Day 1B chip lead. At Day 2, he made one of the sickest calls with just Ace-high to earn his spot in the upper ranks. Joining him is Noel Llamedo who has his work cut out with 9 BB.
To complete the list is China’s lone challenger Yao Yu Ho 何曜宇 who cracked aces near the end of day. He is wedged in the middle with 31 BB.

The record-setting USOP: Poker2U Taiwan Series MAIN EVENT drew 1,043 entries for a guarantee shattering prize pool of TWD 18,210,800 (~$600,200). 133 earned a piece with the largest portions to be claimed today.

Other events
In addition to the Main Event, two events will also be resuming. The Megastack 2M guaranteed and the Super High Roller. Players can still jump in the SHR event with registration closing at the start of Level 10 at 2:50pm. Buy in is TWD 100,000 (~$3,300).
Following those events are two final tournaments to enjoy. At 3pm is Short Deck and at 4pm is The Closer. These are players’ last chances at bringing home one of the final side event trophies.
