Up and down: Soyza continues to climb; Kelopuro tops rankings;
The GGSeries hosted at Natural8 onhas been the source of more than one interesting story about swings in the last month, and that trend has continued this week. Many of the protagonists may remain unchanged, but the numbers have certainly shifted.
The new name arriving to the GGSeries headlines party is Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro. The Fin has been putting together a good run of results at GGSeries this month and has also reached the summit of the PocketFives mountain, but more on that later.
Michael Soyza still on fire +$486,858
In our previous edition, we marvelled at the run of form Michael Soyza has been enjoying while crushing the GGSeries on GGNetwork. The Malaysian star had been on a $500,000 upswing, winning and placing highly in several events since the series began. Soyza has continued that trend this week, claiming 1st place in the GGSeries Blade Turbo $25,000. He collected the top prize of $486,858 to bring his total lifetime profits on GGNetwork up to $677,495 and cap what has been an incredible run.
Kelopuro raiding prize pools
Michael Soyza may be the story of the series so far, but Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro has also been busy at the tables. Kelopuro, who is better known for his PokerStars screen name “Lrslzk” or his partypoker name “LarsLuzak1” has been busy playing the GGSeries. The Finnish pro has been one of the best online tournament players in the world for years and so it is no surprise to see him hitting GGSeries. Kelopuro’s results during the festival, which were collected under the screen name “MiMosa1” have elevated him to number 1 spot in the world on the PocketFives leaderboard.
Kelopuro has picked up 7 six-figure scores in the last week, boosting his all-time cashes on GGNetwork to $3.9 million according to PocketFives. This is higher than the $3.8 million in cashes he has on PokerStars and elevates his total career cashes under all listed usernames to just over $10 million. Kelopuro is now ranked number 1 in the world and sits in 19th spot in the all-time cashes list with $7 million less than Belabacsi at the top.
