Red Dragon Manila Festival ends with Ankit Ahuja, Meng Guo and Pete Chen claiming trophies
The first ever Red Dragon Manila Series that lasted for eight days generating a colossal ₱160.3M (~$3.17M) in prize money ended with more winners taking home series’ trophies and substantial top money prizes.
Ankit Ahuja wins Red Dragon High Roller for ₱6.11M
Ankit Ahuja (India) topped a field of 101 entries to win the second highest buy-in event of the 2020 Red Dragon Manila Series. Ahuja took home ₱6,112,000 (US$120,935), the lion’s share of the tournament’s whopping ₱23,022,950 prize pool (US$456,785), for his first place finish.
The tournament that ran from January 10-11 saw 33 out of the total entries return to battle it out for a spot in the top 13 paid finishes, and for a shot to win the last dragon trophy of the series.
Notable players who were able to cash were kick-off event champion Sahil Agarwal (India), Main event Day 2 chip leader Hwany Lee (Korea) and Main Event 8th place finisher Martin Stausholm (Denmark).
Ahuja fought through 13 grueling 40-minute levels and with an 8-to-1 chip advantage managed to close out the event in a relatively short heads-up battle with the only woman who entered the high-roller event, Day 2 chip leader, Natalie Teh (Malaysia).
Teh took home ₱4,248,000 for her second place finish.

Meng Guo wins Red Dragon Poker Challenge for ₱3.05M
It was a thrilling conclusion for the ₱60,000 Red Dragon Poker Challenge when Meng Guo (China) impressively conquered a field of 376 entries becoming the first female event champion of the 2020 Red Dragon Manila Series.
The tournament generated a ₱19,694,880 (~$388,540) tournament prize pool that guaranteed at least ₱98,000 to all the players who survived to play the tournament’s Day 2.
An interesting deal came up after Soo Jo Kim (South Korea) was eliminated in 4th place. The top three remaining top three players decided for an ICM chop that ensured all of them would be taking home at least ₱2,900,000 (US$57,525). Guo took home ₱3,059,900 (US$60,555) and although she won the event, it was local poker professional Richard “Hot Sauce” Marquez who took home the largest payout which amounted to ₱3,148,200 (US$62,300). 2nd runner up Duc Trung Vu (Vietnam) secured a ₱2,937,400 (US$58,130) payout.

Pete Chen wins his 13th PokerStars LIVE title
The iconic Pete Chen (Taiwan) who has over $2.84M in tournament winnings, has added another win to his impressive collection of tournament championships after winning the ₱20,000 DeepStack NLH Single Re-Entry for ₱433,700 (US$8,603)
The tournament attracted 92 total entries. It generated ₱1,606,320 (US$31,862) in total prize pool that would be paid to the top 10 event finishers.
