PokerMaster Tokyo Cup 2017 Grand Final on December 16 & 17

Through the years, the number of poker players in Japan has increased dramatically with poker tournaments gaining in popularity. Just last month, the inaugural WPT Japan took place with a healthy turnout of 469 entries for the Main Event.

In just a couple of days, another big event will be taking place at the heart of Japan’s bustling metropolis with PokerMaster sponsoring its first edition of the PokerMaster Tokyo Cup 2017. The Japanese version of the poker application will hit the Japanese market in 2018.

This three-day No Limit Hold’em event has already drawn much attention with players lured in by the ¥ 2M guaranteed cash prizes. Out of that purse, half will be awarded to the winner to the tune of ¥ 1,000,000.

Qualifying rounds leading to the Grand Final

For the past few months, from September to November, satellites to Day 1 of the event were held at various locations all over the country. This lengthy period gave players multiple chances to qualify into the event. 20 national poker organizations and clubs participated generating a high turnout of over 3,000 entries.

With all the satellites now completed, players that qualified into Day 1 entered the next stage of the tournament. Ongoing this month are Day 1 heats running at various locations. For those that made it through this round, they advanced to the Grand Final at Casino Stadium in Shinjuku (sub-center of Tokyo).

On the last two days of the PokerMaster Tokyo 2017, this is where all the action really heats up with players treated to top of the line poker facilities and tables at Casino Stadium in Shinjuku. Day 2 will be held on Saturday, December 16th and the Final Day is on Sunday, December 17th.

According to the organizers, players can expect an extravagant stage set up for the RFID final table. The event will be recorded with commentaries by top poker pros from Japan and will be accessible to many media outlets.
