Macau Millions: Chen An Lin wins his first- ever Main Event title
Poker player Chen An Lin had plenty to celebrate tonight. The Taiwanese pro overcame the massive 2,499 entry field of the Macau Millions Main Event to seize his first-ever major title. He pocketed his largest career payout of HK$1,159,000 (~US$147,700) and snatched up a PokerStars Players Championship Platinum Pass.
In the PokerStars live blog, Lin was ecstatic,
“I think the trophy means more to me than the Platinum Pass, just because this is the first Main Event title I’ve ever won, I’ve bubbled three main event final tables so this is a special moment for me.”
The final table streaked by pretty quick with the sun still making its way below the horizon. Dominating the felt were the day’s entering big stacks, Xu Huang and Chen An Lin. Huang had the larger stack at the start but Lin had the added ammo of experience.
During five-handed, Lin delivered a double knockout out with his pocket jacks turned boat against Aditya Sushant’s two pair and Max Menzel’s straight. Huang took care of Zhochang Xu next to bring them to the heads up round in just four hours of play.
Kicking it off, Lin was ahead by a small margin however Huang wrestled for the lead. An hour later, it was all over. Lin was able to ward off Huang and capture the trophy.
This is victory is a huge milestone for Lin. It has taken him nearly 10 years to reach these heights. Early this year, he finished 8th in the Aussie Millions Main Event which was his deepest run prior to this victory.
Lin also placed 18th at the Warm Up event for another HK$11,300 added to his winnings at the festival. He is now very close to breaching the seven-digit marker in live earnings.
