After 17 days of high-energy action, the Asia Poker Tour wrapped up the APT Championship 2025 on a strong note inside Taipei’s electrifying Red Space, a venue that saw multiple history-making moments in the APT history books. Riding the strong momentum of the festival, the Mini High Roller Championship drew an impressive 184-entry field (143 unique), swelling the prize pool to a staggering TWD 38,687,693 (~USD 1,239,990), marking the eighth seven-figure USD prize pool of the festival, which was a clear sign that players’ enthusiasm never wavered throughout the marathon series. In the end, it was Hong Kong’s Wayne Lam who outmaneuvered the massive turnout, clinching the title after defeating his final opponent, Wai Kiat Lee.

Winner’s Reaction

Reflecting on his victory, Lam said, “I’m feeling lucky, I’m feeling very lucky. In the end, it was just a flip, and I came out on the better end.” Commenting on his triple-significance triumph, he added with a smile, “It’s my first trophy, so I guess there’s that. I haven’t thought about the money yet.”
Lam also expressed his appreciation for the support he received, “My girlfriend is just over there, so thank you for coming to watch me play,” he said. “And thank you to the Hong Kong viewers.”

With a commanding stack, Lam called Paulius Plausinaitis’ four-bet shove with his ace-king, dominating and cracking the Lithuanian player’s ace-four to send him out in sixth place . Next on Lam’s list was Michael Egan, who fell victim to a cooler . Egan shoved ace-nine, only to run into Lam’s pocket jacks, cracking Egan’s ace-high and securing another elimination.

The final showdown came against Wai Kiat Lee. Lee attempted a comeback, flopping tens to make tens full of fives on the river, overtaking Lam’s fives full of sevens temporarily. However, Lam’s momentum proved unstoppable. Shortly after, Lee three-bet shoved pocket fours straight into Lam’s ace-queen. The river delivered an ace, cementing Lam’s victory and leaving Lee to settle for runner-up .
Fung Li Triumphs to Close Out the Series in the Trip Saver Championship

The final wave of excitement in the series came from the Trip Saver Championship at APT Championship 2025, where another Hong Kong standout, Fung Lin, claimed his first-ever APT title. The event attracted a massive 394 entries (273 unique), creating a prize pool of TWD 11,914,560 (~USD 371,096). With a minimum cash of TWD 58,400 (~USD 1,819) for 55 players, the atmosphere was electric as competitors battled for the last Mega Lion trophy of the series.
Rising to the occasion, Lin captured his maiden APT title in spectacular fashion, taking home the career-defining top prize of TWD 2,310,960 (~USD 71,994). An amateur player, Lin’s breakthrough victory quadrupled his career live earnings and marked the largest score of his poker journey, capping off the series with a memorable finale.
