Hanoi Super Series opening day highlights; Dinh Quang Huy tops Warm Up Day 1A survivors; Tran Duc Chinh scores first trophy
The Hanoi Super Series (HSS) has kicked off at the Grand Loyal Poker Club! Festivities got underway on Monday, November 28 with the Warm Up event and Hyper Turbo stirring up the felts. Seven players survived the heat and Tran Duc Chinh emerged as the first champion. Tran takes the helm in the Player of the Series race. We’ve got those stories down below.
In collaboration with Korea Mind Game Members (KMGM) and Hanoi Series of Poker (HSOP), the HSS is the first of many to come. Its inaugural schedule is lined with 10 trophy events and a Player of the Series title with a total of ₫10 Billion in guarantees. The series runs from November 28 to December 4 highlighted by the ₫5 Billion guaranteed Main Event. This is the club’s last big event of the calendar season with the highly anticipated World Poker Championship II set to blast off the new year.

Event 1: Warm Up – Day 1A
Light turnout at Day 1A of the festival Warm Up event with only 52 taking interest. Among them were Vietnam circuit regulars Vu Thai Bao, Trent Fechter, Nguyen Duc Nhat, and KMGM’s Tiger Lee. The heat closed when ITM was reached. Seven players advanced to the final day led by chip leader Dinh Quang Huy who bagged 267,000 in chips.
For those that missed the mark at Day 1A or for those that have yet to jump in the action, there are two entry heats remaining, both of them take place on Tuesday, November 29. Day 1B starts at 11am and Day 1C Turbo starts at 3:30pm. Buy in is ₫8,800,000 (~$355). With the event guaranteeing ₫2,000,000,000 (~$80,500), this is great value for players as an overlay may be possible.

Event 2: Hyper Turbo – TRAN DUC CHINH – ₫33,430,000 (~$1,350)
Vietnam’s Tran Duc Chinh claimed the first ever trophy of the HSS after rising above the 23 entry field of the Hyper Turbo. This was Chinh’s maiden live title which came with a first prize of ₫33,430,000.

Player of the Series update
With one event completed, the Player of the Series race is on! Tran Duc Chinh takes the top spot for his victory at the Hyper Turbo. There are plenty of points to be earned with a total of 10 point generating events scheduled. At the end of the series, the player with the most points accrued will win a special trophy and a ticket worth ₫8,800,000 to the WPC II Kick Off Event. Second in points will receive $100 and a special trophy.
