Biggest Asian Poker Tour festival underway in Taipei, Taiwan – April 28 to May 7 at CTP Asia Poker Arena
Excitement is at an all-time high as the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei 2023 got underway at the newly built CTP Asia Poker Arena, with a record-breaking turnout over the past two days. Hailed to be the largest and richest poker festival in the region today, the event has already attracted players from all over the world, with many more on the way as the Main Event draws near.
Last year, the APT was acquired by APT Events Private Limited, and in January, the new owners signed a five-year sponsorship deal with prominent Asian online platform Natural8. Over the past nine months, players have witnessed gradual upgrades and improvements, culminating in a welcome speech and ceremony by APT CEO Fred Leung at the event in Taipei.
“It’s a terrific lead-up to APT Taipei, which officially launches the Asian Poker Tour into a new era. Our APT team has been working relentlessly to deliver what we hope to be all-time records for the tour over the next ten days. Once again, we’d like to thank David Tai and all those involved in CTP for the efforts and hospitality,”
Since the announcement of APT Taipei 2023 earlier this year, interest has been off the charts. Highlight of the event is the jaw-dropping 1 Million USD (NT$ 30 Million) guaranteed Main Event. This is the largest Main Event prize pool announced by the APT in over a decade. It is scheduled for May 1 to 5 with four flights offered. Buy in is NT$ 50,000 (~US$ 1,625). Another top feature are the newly designed APT trophies ready to be captured.
