Manila Super Series 18 underway at Okada Manila! – September 18 to 24

Poker tables are roaring at PokerStars LIVE Manila as the 18th edition of the Manila Super Series is officially in full swing! Once again, spadies are up for grabs in Manila, Philippines. The seven-day series is the most pocket-friendly event offered by the brand. Games commenced earlier today, September 18 at the luxurious Okada Manila Resort & Casino and will continue its action-packed run until September 24.

At the 1pm kickoff, players wasted no time in occupying the tables for the highly anticipated Warm-Up event featuring a PHP 1 million guaranteed prize pool. By the time of posting, Flight A of the Warm Up attracted a large crowd of 225 entries (183 unique) with 103 players remaining. The flight plays down to 34 players which is ITM of 15% of the field. Among the big stacks were:

Victor Miranda – 200,000
Winifred Obedoza – 160,000
Kevin Bortfeld – 150,000
Hsieh Hao-An – 140,000
Andrew Ong – 130,000

Following the opening flight is Warm Up Flight B which gets rolling at 6pm. Registration closes at the end of Level 10 (approximately 9:40pm). Players looking for a big pot, this event is it. The prize pool is headed in that direction with the guarantee already breached on the opening flight. Buy in is PHP 6,000 (~$105).

Main Event – PHP 3 Million guaranteed

After the Warm Up, ready or not, the series jumps right into the Main Event featuring a PHP 3,000,000 (~$52,800) guarantee. At every installment, the Main Event has gained tremendous popularity resulting in inflated prize pools. In June 2023, the prize pool swelled to PHP 9.55 Million (~$168,000) with local player William Ysmael banking over PHP 1.8 Million. The headliner runs from September 20 to 24, 2023, Buy in is an affordable PHP 15,000 (~$265) with unlimited re-entries.
