Hoisting a PHP 500,000 (~USD 8,995) guarantee, Event #35: SuperStack drew in a total of 308 entries to boost the prize pool to almost four times in value. Out of the strong attendance, only 39 runners cut a share of the PHP 1,971,816 (~USD 35,470) pot, each guaranteed a minimum payout of PHP 14,000 (~USD 250). The money trickled in following the exit of Mini Main Event champion Daisuke Kanai. Kanai got his remaining chips in with AdKd and faced Park Chang’s JhJs for a flip. At risk, Kanai exited as the bubble after Park turned a set to lock in the win.

The final round went on to see Ashley Patterson survive all the way to three handed play where he busted Filipino pro Emmanuel Segismundo in a lucky runout. Folded to Patterson on the small blind, he jammed 10c8h onto Segismundo’s big blind who called down with AsQd. Already ahead, Segismundo flopped the nut straight on KhJs10h4h3h yet was short lived after the runout ran a runner runner heart for Patterson’s flush. With the advantage against PhilippinesJoseph Santos, the two instead broke a deal where Patterson would claim the trophy along with the top payout.

A fan-favorite variant, Event #36: Knockout Turbo attracted a total of 81 entries with 11 players claiming a piece of the PHP 610,416 (~USD 10,980) action. Germany’s Jonas Rothmund fell one spot short of the money after running into a blind vs blind battle against Hong Kong’s Chan Wai Wallac. Chan pushed a four bet jam preflop with AsAc and saw Rothmund call off his remaining stack with Ad4d. A huge underdog, Rothmund found some hope after turning a flush draw on Qs9c3d7d2h, but eventually bricked the river to seal his elimination.

The final table was a quick stop for Zhong Szetho who dominated the games all the way down to the title. A crucial pot boosted Szetho to the top beginning with Kirill Gladchenko who shoved his last 4 big blinds in with Ad8d, and was called by both Szetho and Hong Saebyeok. Szetho triple barreled all-in on AsQc9d8cKs for the side pot with Hong calling down all three streets. Turned out all three ran two-pairs, Szetho with Ah9s for the win. By this time, Szetho stacked almost 50% of the chips in play and went on to bust Chan, Hong, and Alexander Ungria Jr. in third, fourth and fifth place respectively.

Onto heads up, Szetho carried in a 7:1 chip advantage and shortly secured the victory after winning a flip to finish off Singapore’s Zi Sheng Teo. The final hand saw Teo shove his remaining 7 big blinds with QhJh, called by Szetho with 6c6d. Szetho bagged the win and added Teo’s bounty to his 11 PHP 1,000 (~USD 18) bounty count to bring his total winnings to PHP 179,916 (~USD 3,230).
