Two days ago, Indian poker pro Dhaval Mudgal announced on Facebook,

“After two of the best years, I’d like to announce I am no longer part of Team Thrill. It’s been one hell of a ride and I wish the company all the best for the future!

Mudgal joined the Indian online team at the end of April 2015 and during his time as a Team Pro, he spent two highly active years hitting the felt all over the world. He also cashed over 25 times and travelled to Las Vegas for his first crack at the WSOP.

New endeavors are on the immediate horizon for Mudgal as less than two weeks ago, he was selected as the Poker Sports League mentor (PSL) for team Goan Nutz.

PokerBaazi Live event shuts down from fear of police raids

Amidst fears of sudden police raids, PokerBaazi Live abruptly ended its Boom Boom Series event scheduled to run for four days from March 16-19, 2017. According to Indian online poker media site, PokerGuru, the series was already underway at the Phoenix Poker Room in Bengaluru with Day 1a completed. The cancellation was announced just before the event resumed for Day 1b with the organizers stressing security reasons.

Although PokerBaazi Live has no history of having ever been raided, heavy shakedowns by Bengaluru authorities at other poker events in 2016 may have been enough to suggest the possibility. But as for the real reason(s) why it was cancelled, that has yet to be declared.

DPT announces its next event with a massive INR 2.25 Crores guaranteed

Deltin Royale

Just last month, the Deltin Poker Tournament concluded a very successful fourth edition in Goa, India with high attendance all throughout the series. While the vibe of that event still floats on many players’ minds, the DPT has eagerly announced their next event, an exciting six-day series with a massive INR 2.25 Crores (US$344,535) guaranteed. This event will take place on April 19th-24th onboard the Deltin Royale.

One major change to be aware of though is this upcoming series requires everyone to have an Adda52 Indian online poker account.  For those without an account, no fret as you will be able to create one right there at registration. Throughout the series, there will be five events offered which includes the Main Event with an INR 70 lakh ($US107,170) guaranteed.  This has been increased from last month’s 55 lakh guarantee. There will also be a  INR 100k buy-in High Roller Event with INR 1 Crore (US$153,127) guaranteed.
