GGPoker Network gives way for banned players to be reinstated

Cheating has been a rampant issue across both the live and online poker scene throughout the years. Major operators such as GGPoker, have been most recently seen pushing continuous efforts to combat these schemes. Just this July, the leading network launched its Poker Integrity Council (PIC)to protect the integrity of the poker industry by investigating allegations of cheating, conducting fair and independent reviews, and enforcing industry-wide sanctions for the most egregious cheaters.

The Council, made up of well-known representatives of the community including GGPoker ambassador Jason Koon, forms a majority vote regarding disciplinary actions needed to be taken should there be any. According to the GGPoker official website, cases handled by the PIC have a range of possible outcomes – Case Dismissal, Warning, Account Suspension, Permanent Ban from GGPoker, Permanent Ban from GGPoker and Confiscation of Funds, and Industry Blacklist. The latter reportedly being the worst, will deem a player excluded from major live tours such as the World Series of Poker, World Poker Tour, Triton, Asian Poker Tour, APL, PGT, and so on.

While the established team is fairly new, the PIC is conversely offering banned players for game integrity reasons an “Olive Branch” this month of August. The announcement, as revealed in the GGPoker Reddit Community, will allow previously banned high-stakes cash game and tournament players on the network to apply for reinstatement through the 15th.

For those interested, the post read:

Applications for reinstatement should be sent to security@ggnetwork.com, from the email account registered to your banned GGPoker account, under the email subject ‘Olive Branch Application’ and include the following information:

  • Account nickname on GGPoker Network
  • Your full name
  • Date and reason for ban from Network
  • A copy of your Proof of Identity (POI), Proof of Address, and a Selfie with your POI

The brand added that each application would be reviewed individually with applicants notified of the outcome on August 22, 2022.

On July 5th we mentioned this. Players are welcome to apply for review, (this does not mean all applications will be accepted). Many players have been banned for 2+ years for infractions like extensive preflop charts, that don’t deserve life. Heavy cheaters are gone for good.”, tweeted Koon in reply.
