GGPoker lifts the curtain on Game of Gold reality series

Reigning as the leading network in the world of online poker, GGPoker continues to extend its presence across the community, this time with a refreshing take on a combination of high stakes poker and reality TV. Together with Poker After Dark, the new poker series, Game of Gold debuted on GGPoker’s Youtube channel, GGPokerTV last Friday, November 10th and has released two episodes since then.

The unconventional take features sixteen professional poker players headlined by the industry’s biggest names including the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Josh Arieh, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz, in a survival battle for $456,000 in cash prizes. Accustomed to high pressure situations, these fierce competitors will play through several poker challenges in a range of poker formats such as Sit & Go’s, heads up duels, Indian Poker, and regular tournament play. Results of the challenges are reflected in the form of coins which are to be converted into chips for the final round.

Game of Gold takes all the best parts of traditional poker shows, adds some exciting new elements, and mixes them together with reality TV to make something truly revolutionary,” said Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Global Ambassador. “If you have even the smallest bit of interest in poker, you have to check Game of Gold out. As to the question of whether I won the $456,000 or not – well, just watch and you’ll find out for yourself!

The show, hosted by renowned poker broadcaster Ali Nejad in Seoul, South Korea, is set to air a total of twelve episodes, releasing a new one every Monday, Wednesday and Friday through December 4th. The competition began with a series of team Sit & Go matches to kick off the games, with the 16 player field divided across four teams. Players of each team will take turns to represent their drawn suits and play on the felt in an attempt to rank up and bag the most coins. Two of the four matches have played through so far with ironically the strongest team consisting of Negreanu, Koon, Michael Soyza, and Kevin Martin, ranking at the bottom putting them at risk for elimination.
