The “100 Series” is the first ever internationally held poker series organised by the popular Indian online poker portal PokerRaj. The 2-day event is limited to 100 players and will take place at Bally’s Casino in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 20th & 21st April.
The event will have a US$ 5,500 buy-in and a guaranteed US$ 250,000 prize pool. As it is capped at 100 players, the expected max prize pool will be US$ 500,000. 10% of the players will be paid out.
PokerRaj is expecting Bollywood celebrities Anita Hassanandani, Harwan Baweja, Raj Kundra and other significant players like Melika Razavi from Iran and Venezuela’s Vanessa Alvarez.
The tournament will kick off at 3pm with 55 minute blind levels and a starting stack of 50,000 chips. Many players will be pleased to know that the button ante will be used.
The invite-only event calls for players to apply by getting in touch with the organizer (e-mail: info@pokerraj.com) and those booking their seats before 5th April will receive free 5-star hotel accommodation and free air transfer (only applies for players residing in India).
Cash games will be running throughout the event as well to guarantee two action packed days of poker.

Sri Lanka as an alternative to Goa?
Choosing Sri Lanka as the first stop of the PokerRaj International Series and specifically the largest casino in Sri Lanka, Bally’s Casino, is a great choice. Event organizers in India are usually hosting events in Goa but players are heavily taxed on their winnings.
Flights from Mumbai to Colombo take about 2.5 hours and it might just be worth it doing the trip for good poker action with less taxes.
