Day 2 of the Micro Championship at WPT Cambodia 2026 delivered six hours of relentless action, dramatic flips, and unforgettable moments as the field of 26 returning players battled down to a single champion. The $300 buy-in event drew 200 entries across two starting flights, creating a $50,880 prize pool. With all Day 2 participants already in the money, the main target was the $12,292 top prize, and the tension was palpable from the first hand.

Santiago Sanchez, the Day 1 chip leader, came into the day with a commanding stack and quickly asserted his dominance. Early eliminations saw Loris Baroni fall to Yuma Endo and Ashish Ahuja bow out to Sanchez’s well-timed shove, setting the tone for an intense climb to the final table. Meanwhile, Andrea Burzio’s open shove met Dale Paterson’s pocket tens, ending her run in 11th place and setting the stage for the last 10 players.

Yu Zhou’s pocket sixes ran into Sanchez’s aces in a classic flip, cementing the final nine, which also included Paterson, Auddie Reynolds, Erik Rozhynskyi, Yuma Endo, Dmitrii Shumeiko, Nikesh Chawla, Lei Zhang, and Tomas Dedinas.

Final Table

The final table was a battleground of swings and hero calls. Paterson became one of the day’s most talked-about players, hitting miraculous doubles, including flopping a full house against Lei Zhang and completing a river straight against Reynolds, while keeping himself in contention despite the mounting pressure.

Meanwhile, Sanchez continued his patient yet aggressive approach, collecting pots and surviving high-variance confrontations. Tomas Dedinas (9th), Yuma Endo (8th), Erik Rozhynskyi (6th), Lei Zhang (5th), and Nikesh Chawla (4th) all fell victim to Sanchez or other timely hands, with Reynolds showing resilience and scoring critical doubles to keep his hopes alive.

Heads-up play began with Sanchez holding an 8,200,000 to 1,800,000 chip lead over Reynolds, a 4-to-1 advantage that signaled a tough climb for the American.

The final confrontation was swift yet decisive. Reynolds moved all in with A♦ 5♦ , only to be snap-called by Sanchez holding A♥ T♣ . The board ran K♣ 6♦ 4♠ J♣ J♦ , leaving Reynolds drawing dead and securing Sanchez’s victory.

After six hours of battle, Santiago Sanchez was crowned champion of the Micro Championship, claiming his second WPT trophy of the series and the first-place prize of $12,292. Auddie Reynolds earned $7,556 for his runner-up finish, while Dale Paterson’s incredible run ended in third for $4,986.

After two starting flights, the Micro Championship is down to its final stretch with all remaining players returning today already in the money and the title firmly within reach. The $300 buy-in event drew a total of 200 entries across both flights, creating a $50,880 prize pool as the tournament now shifts into full payout mode.

Day 1A attracted 95 entries and saw the field reduced to just 12 survivors, while Day 1B brought in 105 entries with 14 players advancing. With 26 players returning for the final day, everyone is guaranteed a minimum payout of $550, but the main target remains the $12,292 top prize awaiting the eventual champion.

Leading the pack is Santiago Sanchez, who bagged a commanding 1,017,000 (85 big blinds) to claim the overall chip lead heading into Day 2. His stack puts him in prime position to apply early pressure as shorter stacks look to ladder up now that the bubble has officially burst.

Play resumes at 11:30 a.m. local time at Level 19 (6,000/12,000), with 30-minute blind levels scheduled as the field plays down to a champion later today.
