Day 2 of the WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition Championship has officially wrapped after a wild, turbo-charged session that saw 292 contenders whittled down to just 14 survivors. With the average stack down to a mere eleven big blinds and the pressure mounting by the minute, the race for Thailand’s first ever WPT title is entering its thrilling final stretch.

Leading the charge into the Final Day is none other than South Korea's Duhan Lee with 16,175,000 (32 BB), who surged late in the day following several key knockouts and a few last minute wins, to edge the lead over the field. Close on his heels are China's Hong Cai (13,750,000) and Haoran Sun (13,400,000), all locked and loaded as they prepare for the final sprint toward Championship glory.

When cards go back in the air tomorrow, the remaining fourteen players will return with their eyes firmly set on the THB 11,477,000 (~USD 350,000) top prize in travel funds and a coveted must-play seat to the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas worth another USD 10,400. Hao Wang flicked in his last 875,000 from early position and was quickly met with a 1,500,000 raise from Alex Lee on the button. Action didn’t stop there as Thiyam Singh came along from the big blind, setting up a three way clash.

The flop rolled out Q♣ J♠ 8♦ , and after Singh checked, Lee jammed for Singh's 2,100,000 behind. Singh tanked but eventually made the call, putting himself at risk of elimination.

Lee, ahead with the best hand in the deck, held strong as turn 2♦ and river 7♥ river ran clean, knocking out two off the counts simultaneously.

Ashkenazi Amit opened 825,000 on the cutoff and shelled out just 550,000 more following an all-in from Dmitry Suchkov right behind.

Amit well ahead, easily dusted his opponent on board 6♣ 3♦ K♣ 5♦ 2♥ , leaving only seventeen players in play.

Philipp Zukernik defended his utg open and called a 1,475,000 three bet from Hao Shan Huang on the button.

On flop Q♦ 2♦ 4♣ , Zukernik led out a 500,000 bet and had to sit a while after Huang used up all his eight time banks before flicking in his last 275,000.

Huang behind against Zukernik's top pair, headed out just as turn 9♥ and river 9♣ completed the board.

Chen Shao Ching open shoved 1,900,000 utg short-handed, and ran right into Haoran Sun's premium pair a seat after.

No luck for Chen arrived on board Q♠ T♣ 9♠ Q♦ 5♥ , eliminating him in 20th place.

Tanupat Punjarojanakul pushed 500,000 utg and found himself in rough shape after Mingzhe Zhang moved over the top from the button.

Punjarojanakul dominated, bowed out shortly after failing to catch up on board A♦ 8♣ 5♣ T♠ 7♦ .

Fresh off the win, Viacheslav Poskonin put his tournament life at risk once more, shoving his newly picked up 2,225,000 stack from the button. Duhan Lee a seat after, stepped up to the plate and found himself positioned for a nice boost.

Lee ahead, clutched the win on board K♦ 2♥ 6♣ 8♦ 2♦ after Poskonin failed to improve.

On the ropes, Viacheslav Poskonin flicked in his last 525,000, and was followed by another push from Zan Huang on the button. Qinxi Yang called off his last 1,600,000 in the small blind, setting up a three way showdown.

Each of the three landed a piece on flop A♠ J♦ T♠ , but it was Poskonin who picked up the win with a flush as the runout completed 4♠ 8♥ . Poskonin raked in the triple up, while Yang took the side pot to cut his losses.

Running on fumes, Chenxu Zhang moved all-in for her remaining 725,000 from the button, looking for a crucial double to stay in contention. But hopes quickly dimmed as Zan Huang snap called from the big blind with the clear edge.

Zhang found some life with a pair on flop 8♦ 7♦ A♥ , but wasn’t enough to turn the tables as the runout 2♥ Q♥ kept her behind, capping her run in 28th place.

Wooyoung Lee open ripped 1,550,000 utg and was followed with another shove two seats over from Manabu Sato for a larger 2,525,000. The rest of the table stepped aside, leaving the two to run the cards.

Lee gunning for an ace, found none on board 6♣ 5♥ 4♥ 9♣ 9♦ , ending his deep run in the historic debut.

Pau Sanroma, who has been short stacked since the start of the day, put his tournament life on the line folded to him on the cutoff, and was snapped by Mingzhe Zhang right on the big blind.

Sanroma dominated, had his hopes up as the flop 4♥ 2♥ 5♥ came all hearts, but eventually succumbed to his fate after the turn 9♦ and river T♠ bricked for the Spanish contender.

Feng Xu limp called a 500,000 raise from Thiyam Singh, and check called another 500,000 cbet on flop K♦ 6♥ T♦ . On turn T♠ , Singh went for a heftier 1,100,000, leaving Xu entirely unable to continue.

Xu left short following the loss, bound for the exit minutes later after losing a flip for his last six big blinds.

Two big stacks collided in Table 15, beginning with an utg open from Duong Chi Thanh. Alex Lee, two seats over, made it 750,000 to go, and Thanh completed for a heads up battle.

On flop 8♥ A♦ Q♠ , Thanh pulled a 1,000,000 check raise against Lee's 475,000 cbet, and continued to fire his last 2,000,000 on turn 9♣ . Lee snap called both streets with two pair A♣ 8♣ , crushing Duong's mere 7♥ 7♣ .

River J♣ ran blank, shipping Lee the massive pot to take the lead over the last five tables.

Shaohung Yu pushed 700,000 on the button against a hijack open from Yong Zhao, and saw the latter complete, tabling a race.

Board 4♣ Q♥ 7♠ 2♠ 5♥ ran dry for both, leaving Yu's ace-high good for the takedown.

Chen Shao Ching opened 1,125,000 on the button, leaving himself with one green chip behind. Hao Shan Huang a seat after, called for the rest, tabling the cards momentarily.

Chen at risk, quickly seized the lead on runout 2♣ 9♦ K♦ 7♠ 4♣ , letting out a sigh of relief as he raked in the two million pot.

A button vs blind clash saw both stacks piled in the middle, Hung Yu Tsoi being at risk for his 1,100,000 stack against button opener Lu Jin.

Both connected on flop T♦ 4♣ A♠ , with Jin's top pair holding firm through runout J♦ 9♣ , eliminating Tsoi from the running.

Tung Le Tien opened 300,000 and found three callers behind Ben Shushan Itzhak, and both players on the blinds Hao Huang and Feng Xu.

Action on flop 4♣ T♣ 5♦ was checked to Itzhak, who bet 200,000. Both Huang and Xu flicked in their last few chips, along with Xu made the call. No more bets went in on turn 7♦ and river 2♦ , tabling Itzhak's top pair for the win.

A massive preflop clash erupted on Table 11 with Alex Lee putting his entire 1,525,000 stack on the line against Sergei Solovev.

Lee was already well ahead preflop and only widened the gap after flopping top set on a board of Q♠ 3♠ 5♥ . The turn 3♥ and river 2♣ sealed the deal with a full house, securing the double and keeping Lee firmly in contention.

A pocket pair battle, Descieux had no issues locking up the win across board 5♣ 4♥ J♦ K♠ 7♣ , keeping him right on shis seat.

Sanket Sanganeria moved over the top for 540,000 on the button against an utg open from Wei Jen Wang, and saw the latter make the call, putting his opponent at risk.

Sanganeria however, was in no trouble, having flopped the world on board A♦ 4♠ 7♠ 5♦ 9♥ , easily picking up the win in no sweat.

Suwichak Bunma moved all-in from utg for his last 185,000 and was followed by a 300,000 raise from Shaoming Li in the hijack. Action folded to Manabu Sato in the big blind, who reshoved for 450,000 total, leaving Li priced in to call.

Li looked primed for a double knockout through the 7♠ 5♠ 8♣ 8♦ board, until the river peeled the T♣, giving Sato his two outer to steal the pot and crush Li’s hopes of cracking the one million mark.

Yuan Ting Fu opened 300,000 on the hijack, leaving himself with 10,000 behind. Alex Lee called one seat over, but folded after Philipp Zukernik reshoved for the rest of his chips from the big blind.

In for a flip, running hot Zukernik remained ahead all the way through board 3♥ 6♥ 3♦ 9♦ 7♥ , leaving Fu drawing dead by the turn with a full house nines over threes.

Shaoji Wang open shoved 495,000 in early position and was challenged by Khant Naing three spots down the line.

Wang gunning for overcards, missed to find a pair on board 2♣ 6♥ 9♦ K♥ 3♣ , capping his WPT Championship run.

Ben Shushan Itzhak opened utg and faced a button raise to 250,000 from Feng Xu. Not backing down, Itzhak bumped it up again to 490,000, and Xu made the call, building a pot of over a million chips even before any cards were turned.

The flop landed 5♠ 8♣ 2♠ , and Itzhak wasted no time moving all-in for his remaining 210,000. After a long tank, Xu called with J♦ T♦ , hoping to hit with his suited connectors. But Itzhak turned over A♥ A♣ , the best starting hand in the deck and sealed the win as turn K♥ and river 4♥ completed the board.

Climbing back up the ranks from 15,000, I Hsuan Chou was up in another showdown after calling off his 160,000 stack following an utg all-in from Yauxin Chu.

Chou in rough shape against the premium pair, bowed out shortly after board K♣ 8♠ J♠ T♠ 6♥ left his Championship hopes entirely crushed.

Galit Malkin pushed her 295,000 in the middle folded to her on the hijack, and found one caller in Chiyuan You right behind for a flip.

Malkin at risk, instantly spiked a set on board T♠ J♠ 7♦ 9♣ 6♦ , earning her the full double as the board continued to leave You in pieces.

Nguyen Quang Khiem kicked off the action with a 60,000 open, and was met with three shoves behind - Cheng Xu (215,000), Sin Ren Chen (350,000), and Yung Hui Po (750,000). With towers of chips piling into the middle, Nguyen eventually found the fold, preserving his last six big blinds for another spot.

Board 9♠ 2♥ J♠ 7♣ 3♠ ran clean for Chen's ladies, shipping him the entire pot while Xu headed for the payout desk.

Chiyuan You open ripped his 545,000 stack on the hijack, and shifted the spotlight on Nicholai Tan sitting in the big blind. After some thought, Tan committed his last 250,000, putting his tournament life on the line.

Tan well ahead, smooth sailed to victory with a flopped full house on board J♥ J♣ 6♥ Q♠ K♠ for the quick double.

Yu Zhu opened 65,000 in early position, and called off his 165,000 behind after Miki Mori Amable moved all-in from the big blind.

It was a classic coin flip, but Zhu’s overcards came through on a board of K♣ 8♠ J♦ 6♠ T♦ , keeping his Championship hopes alive.

Yi Chieh Hsieh opened 50,000 on the button and took a long minute before calling off her 190,000 behind against a big blind shove from Hao Huang.

Slightly ahead, Hsieh survived the race with her ace-high good enough to bank the win on board J♣ 6♦ Q♣ 6♥ 4♥ .

Brian Coppola risked his remaining 270,000 and got it in good against Shicheng Gu's dominated ace.

Unfortunately for him, Gu found a pair of fours on board 3♠ 4♠ 8♠ 3♣ T♥ , which held through to send Coppola out of the running right within the first 30 minutes of the day.

A three way showdown erupted on Table 2 with Philippe Clerk covering both Vincent Salaun's and Taewoo Kim's below 20 BB stacks.

Board Q♥ 6♣ 8♠ Q♠ Q♣ ran clean for the rockets, earning him the entire pot to surge past the one million mark.

Zhuoan Li open raised all-in on the cutoff folded to him, and ran smack into Nguyen Manh Hung's big blind special - pocket kings.
