Off to a rough start, Baofeng Zhang fired a 100,000 three bet from the big blind against Chuang Hao, and saw the latter call for another battle. On board 8♥ 2♠ 7♥ 4♦ , Zhang check called two streets - 80,000 and 200,000, revealing river K♣ . Zhang checked once more, and Hao bet all-in. Zhang tanked, and eventually made the call for his last 484,000 with J♣ J♥ , only to be eliminated as Hao turned over a set 7♣ 7♦ .

Chuang Hao sent out a 90,000 three bet on the big blind vs a button open from Baofeng Zhang and saw the latter complete. On flop 8♠ 3♠ 7♥ , Zhang called another 75,000, revealing turn J♥ . Hao this time, check raised all-in for 612,000 after Zhang put in a hefty bet of 275,000. Zhang burned three time banks and eventually folded, shipping Hao not only the pot, but also his chip lead status.

Over a hundred eliminations have been delivered throughout the day with only 127 players remaining in contention by the second break. Baofeng Zhang currently leads the charge, stacking above the 1 million mark to leave quite a distance from second in rank Ran Zhou's 665,000 chip count.

Time banks will be put in play the following level.

Hikari Miura opened to 10,000, called by Shuang Li behind and Baofeng Zhang on the big blind. Flop 8♥ 4♠ J♦ saw Miura bet 15,000, raised by Li to 35,000. Action back to Zhang, he bumped it up further to 70,000, and left only Li continuing to turn 5♥ .

Zhang led 95,000, and went on to shove 400,000 in against Li's raise. Li went deep in the tank but eventually put in the call with two pair 8♠ 5♠ . Zhang revealed a better two pair J♠ 8♣ , dominating Li for the massive pot all the way through river 3♦ . Li survived the damage but is crippled down to twelve big blinds.

Fifty players have already headed for the rails by the first break with 179 contenders remaining in play. Beng Hong Ker currently holds down the lead, being the sole runner above the half a million mark.

A threeway raised pot led by Xiajing Ji rolled a flop of 9♦ 6♦ 4♦ . Ji continued for 4,000, called behind by Baofeng Zheng. On turn 2♦ , Ji gunned for another 6,500 and shipped the win following a fold.

A few hands later, Ji was at play again, this time with a call for 32,000 against Enzhi Shen's small blind jam. Ji is ahead with 8♥ 8♣ vs the short stack's T♦ 7♥ , and scooped up the overall lead as board K♥ Q♠ 9♣ 3♣ 8♦ landed him a set.

Qifeng Duan defended his open and called an 8,500 three bet from Baofeng Zhang a seat behind. Action on flop T♦ J♦ 7♠ was checked round, peeling turn Q♠ . Duan led 6,500, and called 10,000 more after Zhang put in a raise. On river 5♣ , Duan check folded vs Zhang's final bet of 32,500.

WPT Main Event Day 1B registration is officially closed with 207 entries recorded across the first eight levels. China's Xinxin Jiang currently stands in the lead by the last break of the day, stacking nearly three times the average stack.

One more flight is set to run through tomorrow, November 18, to wrap up the qualifying rounds.

Jinquan Wang defended his utg open and called a 7,200 three bet from Baofeng Zhang behind. On flop 3♠ 4♣ T♣ , Wang check called another 7,500, revealing turn 7♠ . Both checked it through to river A♠ , where Wang led for 21,000. Zhang tanks and eventually puts in the call, only to muck as Wang flipped over A♣ K♦ .

WPT Main Event players have been sent off to a one hour dinner break, with play set to resume at 6:35 pm local time. 113 runners out of the 170 entry field continue to be in contention, with wild card Jieming Xu leading the charge. Today's action is set to conclude following four more 60 minute levels onto Day 2.
