Steenman Drags a Pot With Pocket Eights

Sewy Steenman opened the action with a raise to 600 from under the gun and picked up two callers: Pham Quoc Tuan in middle position and Sacha Bayard on the button.

The flop came 6♣ 7♠ 3♣, and after Steenman checked, Tuan fired out 1,000. Bayard quickly folded, and Steenman made the call.

The 3♥ hit the turn, and both players opted to check it through. The river brought the 5♦, and again, the action went check-check.

Steenman tabled 8♦ 8♣ for an overpair, which was good enough to take down the pot after Tuan mucked his hand.
