The Ukraine’s Erik Rozhynskyi open shoves from UTG for 740,000 covering his callers Alex Wong in the CO for his last 15,000 and Huynh Ngoc Thai on the D for his remaining 315,000.

Rozhynskyi turns over Q♠ J♠ while Wong has live cards with 8♠ 4♦ . However, Huynh tables A♥ A♠ and the subsequent runout goes: 3♣ 7♠ 9♦ 4♥ (a slim chance for Wong) T♣ .

Wong bounces in back-to-back hands while Rozhynskyi’s stack is down to less than half a million. Huynh stays in contention.

The actions begins with a raise from HJ to 100,000 and a call from Alex Wong on the D. China’s Zheng Anshu goes over the top all-in for 880,000. The original raiser folds but Wong—who barely covers his Chinese opponent—calls.

Zheng turns over J♦ J♠ while Wong shows K♦ Q♠ .

The runout goes: 4♣ 7♥ T♥ 7♠ T♠ as the Jacks hold for Zheng and the win catapults atop the leaderboard anew while Wong has less than a BB remaining.

Another unraised pot sees Tran Cong Huan complete his SB against Alex Wong in the BB and the Malaysian checks his option.

The flop comes 8♦ 9♥ K♠ as Tran leads out for 40,000 and gets called. The turn is the 4♠ and this time, both players check. The river is the 9♣ as Tran bets 100,000. Wong goes into the tank and uses two Time Bank cards before declaring a raise to 250,000. Tran snap calls.

Wong shows 9♦ 3♣ while Tran has 9♠ 5♠ for a split pot as both their kickers are nullified by the board.

Erik Rozhynskyi gets a fresh payload and immediately puts it to use as he opens from the CO for 60,000 and gets called by Alex Wong on the BB.

The flop is 5♠ 9♣ 3♦ as Wong checks. Rozhynskyi continues for 85,000 and gets no response from the Malaysian as he takes down back-to-back pots.

Hoang Hai Nam opens from the +1 position for 65,000 but then Alex Wong 3-bet shoves from the CO for all his chips worth 490,000. Hoang gives it a think through and burns one Time Card in the process. The Vietnamese icon eventually decides to fold.

Malaysia’s Alex Wong opens from UTG for 80,000 and gets caller in chip-leader Jhon Hendri on the D and Hoang Hai Nam in the BB.

The flop goes A♣ 9♥ 8♦ as all skip this street. The turn is the 6♣ as it is checked to Hendri who leads out for 100,000 and gets no callers. Hendri’s stack continues to swell.

Alex Wong goes for a Hail Mary and chucks in his remaining 240,000 to the middle of the table from the +1 Position and gets called in the +2 position by Japan’s Masataka Nishada.

Wong flips over Q♦ J♠ while Nishada shows 9♦ 9♥ .

The flop gives the lead to the Malaysian: 8♠ J♦ 8♣ and the turn did provide some excitement as the T♦ comes out, the river card is the 3♣ gives Wong the double up but Nishada now has to play perfectly in order to catch at least another pay jump.

The action is opened from the +1 position for 40,000 and draws two callers in Alex Wong on the D and Huynh Ngoc Thai in the BB.

The flop goes 6♥ Q♠ J♥ as Huynh checks. The initial raiser continues for 55,000 and gets a call from Wong. However, Huynh check-raises all-in for 240,000. The original raiser chooses to fold while Wong calls.

Huynh shows Q♥ 5♥ for top pair and a flush draw on the flop while Wong tables A♥ J♣ for middle pair.

The turn is the 7♥ to award Huynh the flush but to also give Wong a redraw to the nut flush. It doesn’t happen as the river the J♣ to give Wong trips that he didn’t need.

Wong’s stack is now just barely above ten BBs.

The action is folded to the HJ of Jhon Hendri who opens for 40,000. He gets 3-bet in the CO by chip-leader Erik Rozhynskyi to 135,000 as Alex Wong joins from the BB. Indonesian then swings for the fences with a 4-bet shove for 270,000. Both Rozhynskyi and Wong make the call.

The flop is Q♠ Q♣ 6♦ as both in the side pot check. The turn is the 4♦ and this time Wong goes all-in. Rozhynskyi folds.

Hendri shows K♥ K♠ while Wong is on a two-outer with 8♦ 8♠.

To add insult to injury, the river card is the K♦ to give the Indonesian a rare triple up as Wong’s stack nears the danger zone.

Alex Wong opens from UTG and gets 3-bet to 135,000 on the D of Erik Rozhynskyi. Wong calls.

The flop comes 6♥ 6♠ 4♥ as Wong checks. Rozhynskyi unloads 85,000 and the hand ends.

Rozhynskyi eclipses the 1.2M mark is the de facto table captain.

Tran Cong Huan open shoves from the D for his last 95,000 and Alex Wong calls from the SB.

Tran shows T♠ T♥ while Wong tables 9♣ 8♦ .

The flop gives Wong some kind of a prayer: 2♦ 8♥ 7♠ and despite the arrival of the T♦ on the turn to give Tran a set, Wong wasn’t drawing dead. Until the 9♦ shows on the river to give Tran a much needed double against Wong who hardly felt the hit.

Alex Wong raises from the +1 position to 30,000 and is called by Jhon Hendri in the CO and Hoang Hai Nam in the BB.

The flop comes 5♣ A♦ 2♣ as Hoang checks. Wong CBets to 60,000 and makes his opposition fold.

Tran Cong Huan of Vietnam goes all-in for his last 128,000 in the CO and gets called by Malaysia’s Alex Wong on the D.

Tran shows A♣ J♦ while Wong has live cards with K♦ Q♥ .

The runout goes: 3♦ 5♠ 2♥ 8♠ T♦ as both players blank out and the Vietnamese player gets the double up with the highest miss.

Roy Adi Putra now chooses to raise from early position and he does so to 25,000 from UTG where action is folded to the blinds and both call.

The flop is A♥ 6♣ 8♦ as the blinds check. The Indonesian CBets to 25,000 again and both blinds call. The turn is the J♥ as once again the blinds do nothing and Adi Putra fires another bet, this time of 125,000. Malaysia’s Alex Wong is in the SB and once again makes the call. The BB folds. The river is the 7♦ and this time, Adi Putra and Wong check.

Wong turns over A♠ Q♠ for top pair on the flop. Adi Putra mucks his hand.

Wong approaches the 700,000 chip mark.

The action is folded to the D where Korea’s Kim Jiyoung goes all-in for her remaining 53,000 and gets a call from Alex Wong of Malaysia on the SB. Vietnamese ace Hoang Hai Nam 3-bets from the BB for 100,000 as Wong decides to call.

The flop comes J♦ 6♦ 2♦ as Wong checks. Hoang shoves his remaining 118,000 and Wong makes the call.

Kim tables A♣ Q♠ while Hoang shows A♠ A♥ . Wong covers both, but is behind with Q♣ J♠ for top pair on the flop. The turn is 4♦ ,no one has any diamonds in the hole cards—and the river is the 9♥ as the last lady left is out in 12th place and the virtual triple up by Hoang greatly damages Wong’s stack.

Doing his usual limping from early position, Roy Adi Putra from Indonesia gets raised from the +1 position to 37,000 by Vietnam’s Huynh Ngoc Thai as Malaysian Alex Wong makes the call from the SB. Adi Putra elects to join.

The flop is 8♥ 5♦ 8♣ as Wong checks. Suddenly Adi Putra comes out firing for 90,000. It’s enough to scare away his opponents for the pot.

Michael Truong from the United States opens from the +2 position for 16,000 and gets re-raised by Malaysia’s Alex Wong in the SB to 40,000. Truong makes the call.

The flop comes 7♠ 9♣ 3♠ as Wong continues for another 40,000. Truong raises it to 100,000 and Wong’s response is 3-bet shove to 233,000. Truong calls.

Wong gives the American the bad news quickly as he flips over A♣ A♠ while Truong tables J♣ J♠ .

A semblance of hope appears on the turn as the T♦ to give Truong more outs with a gutshot redraw. However, the river made the Malaysian’s double up official as the K♠ sealed the deal.

While Wong’s stack is back to relevance, Truong’s stack is in grave danger.

With already 64,000 in the middle in a pot between Alex Wong of Malaysia in the +1 position and Indonesia’s Roy Adi Putra in the HJ, the flop shows 8♥ J♥ 5♠ as Wong checks. Adi Putra then goes all-in for his last 125,000 and gets the call from the Malaysian.

The Indonesian shows 6♥ 5♥ for bottom pair and a flush draw while Wong turns over A♣ J♦ for top pair, top kicker.

The turn is the 7♦ to give Adi Putra more out with an open-ended straight redraw and the river is the A♥ to complete the Indonesian’s flush and eclipse the 300,000 chip mark, Wong falls below that mark in the unfortunate loss.

Malaysia’s Alex Wong raises from UTG to 12,000 and gets re-raised by Huynh Ngoc Thai on the D for 35,000. Wong calls.

The flop comes J♣ 4♣ 8♦ as the Malaysian checks. Huynh bets 25,000 and is check-raised all-in by Wong for his remaining 182,000. The Vietnamese player makes the quick call.

Wong flips over A♦ A♣ while Huynh could only shake his head on the cruel set-up as he tables Q♦ Q♠ .

The last two community cards in this hand are the J♦ and the K♦ as Wong doubles up through Huynh who was just relishing the chips he had just acquired, which are now headed to Wong’s ledger.

The action gets folded to the HJ of Korea’s Hong Sung Heon and he raises it to 9,000. The action gets to Alex Wong of Malaysia in the BB who defends.

The flop comes 4♦ T♣ 8♠ as suddenly Wong claims the betting lead and fires 15,000. The Korean calls. The turn is the J♠ and the Malaysian is unrelenting as he unloads 30,000 more, to which Hong still makes the call. The river is the 4♣ as Wong barrels again, this time for 50,000. Hong does not continue in the hand.

Alex Wong of Malaysia raises from the +1 position for 7,000 and the action folds to the BB of China’s Li Qinglin who makes the defense.

The flop comes 5♥ 5♠ 2♣ as Li donks in for 8,000. The Malaysian calls. The turn is the 8♠ and this time, both players opt to check. The river is the 2♥ as Li checks again. Wong unloads 15,000 and the player from China makes the call.

The rampage of Malaysia’s Alex Wong continues as he finds himself in yet another all-in preflop situation against two opponents, one named Shin Pilho.

Wong tables Q♦ Q♠ while an all-in player in the CO has A♣ K♦ . Shin shows K♣ J♠ .

The flop gives Shin a glimmer of hope: 4♦ J♥ 9♦ . However the turn is the 4♣ and the river is the 8♣ as Wong knocks out two, this time coming full circle against Shin.

Wong now has the overall chip lead.

From once against the ropes to battling for top honors, Alex Wong of Malaysia once again finds himself in an all-in preflop situation, this time against the player who almost stacked him earlier in Sin Pilho and another player on the D.

Shin tables A♦ K♠ while Wong turns over K♣ K♦ . The other all-in player has A♠ Q♣, taking away one of Shin’s direct outs.

The runout once again stayed low for the Malaysian: T♠ 3♠ 8♣ 6♠ (a sweat card for Wong as both his opponents pick up flush redraws) and the last card is the 4♥ .

Wong busts another and cripples Shin as he now has almost 230,000 in chips.

With the chip in the middle of the table already at 22,900 and a board of J♦ 6♦ 6♣ 9♥ already showing, Alex Wong of Malaysia is in the SB and he checks along with another player in the BB. China’s Sun Yunsheng fires 7,500 as the player on the D folds. The blinds call.

The river is the T♦ and Wong shoves his remaining stack of 37,700 and is called by the player in the BB for 14,100. Sun calls.

Wong turns over J♠ J♣ for a full house on the flop while the player in the BB shows K♦ 3♦ for a flush on the river. Sun sheepishly shows 9♠ 9♣ for a lower full house on the turn and has his stack drop down to under 30,000. The player in the BB busts as Wong gets a virtual triple up and has a stack that now nears the 140,000 mark.

Not long after losing a majority of his chips to Shin Pilho, Alex Wong of Malaysia is opening the action from the CO for 2,000 and gets a call from the Indonesia’s Jhon Hendri in the SB.

The flop comes 3♦ 2♠ 8♥ as Hendri checks. Wong continues for 1,500 and gets called. The turn is the 7♦ as once again the Indonesian checks. Wong barrels away again, this time for 3,000 and Hendri stays sticky. The river is the Q♣ as Hendri checks for a third time. The Malaysian loads up and unleashes a river bet of 8,000. Hendri still makes the call.

Wong flips over Q♦ Q♠ for a set on the river. Hendri chooses to muck his cards. Wong could be on the precipice of a comeback run.
