It took hours for the 201 entry field to crunch down to ITM of 26 players. Filipino player Edwin Dela Cruz bagged an enormous stack of 573,000 (95 BB). Sliding in during bubble to claim second rank was Taiwan’s Hong Che Wang 王洪哲. Cruz and Huang 王洪哲 were the only two players to close the day in the 500K mark. Other notable players through to the next stage were decorated high roller Wai Kiat Lee and WSOP bracelet winners Paul Ming Juen Teoh and Webster Chin Wei Lim. The Main Event has drawn a combined 462 entries over two starting days (Day 1A - 261, Day 1B - 201). Up next are Day 1C and Day 1D (Turbo) both take place on Friday, February 17. The TWD 10 Million guarantee is headed for a crushing, how high it will go has yet to be seen. A combined 59 players are now in the money and are through to Day 2.
