KPC Baby Dragon

The KPC Baby Dragon Special Event qualifiers have come to a close with China's Xiaosheng Zheng packing the lead across the Day 1C flight with a chip count of 348,000. The last heat saw an additional 162 entries attempt to qualify with only 25 survivors making it through to Day 2. All returning players are now guaranteed a minimum payout as well as a one night complimentary stay at Landing/ Shinhwa Hotel for opening day of the next KPC in Mid-November (TBC).

Action resumes this Sunday, July 28th at 12:00 sharp - Level 16: 4,000 / 8,000 ante 8,000.

Yu Yunchao shoved all-in and saw Jiao Wei behind call off his last 30,000. In for a race, the board J♥ 6♣ 7♠ 8♥ 5♠ landed Yu a straight to knock out Jiao and wrap up the Day 1C games.

Yeh Chih Yun shoved his last 38,000 and was called behind by big stacked Xiaosheng Zheng. Whilst ahead with a pair, Yeh busted short of the money after Xiaosheng spiked a king on the turn J♦ 4♦ Q♠ K♥ 9♥ .

A limp pot blind vs blind rolled flop 9♣ J♠ 6♠ . Small blind Lin Yin led for 10,000 and called off 51,000 more after big blind Yu Jie shoved all-in. Lin is ahead with J♦ 9♥ yet quickly came crashing down after the turn T♦ and river 7♣ tabled a straight for Yu's J♥ 8♣ .

Hijack Lyu Bo opened to 16,000 and called the 40,000 more from button Tang Tianyuan. On flop as T♥ 2♣ , Tang flicked in his last 1,000 chip and revealed A♥ K♥ . Lyu is behind with Q♦ J♣ and remained that way all through turn 4♣ and river 4♠ .

Wang Zhiyi shoved all-in and saw Yu Zhichen call off for his last 32,000. At risk, Yu remained in the game after the board 2♦ 2♠ 6♣ 5♦ 6♥ landed him a pair of fives to survive through.

Jin Xuanyu pushed all-in for 64,000 and ran smack into Wu Luyao's rockets. In need of help, Jin's top pair on K♥ 4♠ 3♦ T♦ 2♣ wasn't enough to save him from elimination.

Yu Yunchao open shoved his big stack in and saw Paul Hong call off for his 10 BB stack. In for a race, the board 8♠ 5♠ A♠ J♣ K♣ landed Yu top pair to eventually knock his opponent out.

Ren Yaji completed from the big blind vs a 15,000 button open from Zhao Yue. On flop Q♠ 6♠ 7♥ , Ren fired a check raise all-in after Zhao continued for 12,000. Zhao quickly folds and gives up the pot.

Paul Hong reshoved 46,000 in vs Wu Luyao's open and finds himself flipping for his tournament life. Lucky for him, the board T♥ 9♥ 7♠ 7♥ 5♣ ran safe for his pocket pair, earning him a double up.

Utg Lyu Bo opened to 13,000, joined by Tang Tianyuan behind on flop 9♠ K♠ K♦ . Lyu proceeded with a check call for 8,000 and headed to turn 7♠ . Both players check it through to river A♦ where Lyu fired all-in. Tang tanks and folds.

Ren Yaji opened to 12,000 and called off Weng Chien Chih's 63,000 all-in for a flip. The board ran 5♣ 9♠ 3♦ 8♦ 6♣ , leaving Weng with nowhere to go but out.

Small blind Yeh Chih Yun opened to 15,000, called behind by Ren Yaji. On flop T♥ 9♦ K♠ , Yeh continued for 11,000 with Ren making the call to see turn J♥ . Yeh checks and shortly folds after Ren sent out a 10,000 bet.

Tian Hao shoved his last 48,500 and was called by Wang Zhiyi from the big blind. In for a race, the board 5♠ 2♣ Q♦ J♣ 4♠ missed to pair either player, leaving Wang's ace high good for the taking.

Chen Yen Han flicked in his last 16,000 and faced Jiao Wei's ace high behind. Slightly ahead, Chen headed for the rails shortly after the river T♣ 2♦ Q♥ 3♥ 5♠ landed Jiao a straight.

With 44,000 in the middle on board 3♠ 3s 8♣ 2♥ , action was seen on Ren Yaji with a bet of 22,000. Big blind Leathem Andrew John check raised all-in for 52,500 more and Ren surrenders.

An all-in preflop situation saw Huang Guanha commit his last 54,000 with a small pocket pair and faced chip leader Xiaosheng Zheng's premium holdings. In danger, Huang exited the floor shortly after the board Q♦ T♥ 3♦ 9♠ 8♣ felted none of his outs.

Registration is closed for the final flight of the KPC Baby Dragon Special Event with a total of 162 entries recorded in addition. Play will conclude once the field is down to 15% of the field at 25 players remaining.

The Red Dragon Poker Tour festivities running through August 4th at Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World, South Korea kicked off its opening day games yesterday with KPC Baby Dragon’s first flight already in the books. China’s Chen Wen Wen currently leads the twelve survivors moving onto Day 2 with two final heats for the Special Event set to complete today, July 27th.

Day 1C action starts at 18:00 with registration open through Level 8 @ 20:55.
