Okada Millions (8,000 PHP)

The 6th edition of the PokerStars LIVE Okada Manila Millions wrapped up its flagship tournament with Beomhui Kang clinching the title after a one hand flip with Anacleto Quijano.

"This was my first championship and it's like a dream! I am very happy I won this championship. I am only a businessman. Poker is just my hobby."

Kang catapulted to the top of the counts after he eliminated Fahad Alanazi in 7th place. Alanazi had top pair top kicker which Kang defeated with two pair.

"My toughest opponent was seat 5 (Fahad Alanazi). He had A♠ 9♦ and I had 6♥ 9♥ and the flop had 5♣ 6♠ 9♣ two pair."

At three handed, an ICM deal was struck guaranteeing Kang the second largest payout of PHP 1,305,000 (~US$ 22,900). Added to his win was the APPT Package worth PHP 180,000. Congratulations to the champ!

The record breaking Okada Millions ran from April 10-13, 2025 at Okada Manila in Philippines. It being the most popular low-stakes tournament by PokerStars LIVE, it attracted players from all over the region pulling in 1,638 entries across seven flights. With buy in at just PHP 8000 (~US$ 140), it set a new prize pool high of PHP 11,185,574 (~US$ 196,300) with 196 players earning share.

Event Recap

The final day of the Main Event saw 189 players return to the felt, including Hernan Villa, the event’s inaugural champion, who came in strong after bagging the chip lead in Flight B. When the field thinned, entering chip leader Anacleto Quijano maintained his dominance, knocking out multiple opponents on his way to the final table.

Shortly before the ninth hour of play, Christian Cloutier was eliminated by Beomhui Kang in 10th place, setting the stage for the final nine. At the top of the counts, it was a tight race between Villa, Fahad Alanazi, and Quijano.

The sprint for the title took just 32 hands. One of the key moments came when Quijano scored a dramatic double knockout, sending Rodolfo Ramo and Joungwoo Park to the rail as the first two final table casualties. After Alanazi exited, Kang surged into the lead, but Quijano bounced back by eliminating Dino Sabatini, bringing the stacks nearly even.

Quijano regained momentum with the elimination of Vamerdino Magsakay, but it was Kang who sealed the deal in the end, taking out both Villa and Quijano to clinch the Main Event title.

The final two players opted to flip for the title. Anacleto Quijano had 3♠ 2♣ , Beomhui Kang ahead 9♠ 5♠ . The final board was Q♠ 4♣ 6♥ K♥ J♠ . Both missed for Kang's bigger card to play.

Hand #25: Hernan Villa raises 650,000 from under the gun, Vamerdino Magsakay defends on the big blind then folds to Villa's 700,000 bet on the flop J♣ K♣ 7♦ .

Hand #26: Anacleto Quijano looks down at Q♦ Q♠ and raises 675,000 from the button. Small blind Vamerdino Magsakay three-bets all in for 2,250,000 with J♠ J♥ . Quijano snap-calls and Magsakay sees the bad news.

With the board running 5♠ 3♣ 9♠ 4♠ 2♥ , Magsakay bows out in 4th place.

Hand #17: Dino Sabatini raises to 800,000 and big blind Beomhui Kang defends his big blind. When the flop runs A♥ 8♥ 6♦ , Kang folds.

Hand #18: Everyone folds to the big blind Yen Ting Huang.

Hand #9: Hernan Villa opened 500,000 from under the gun and action folded around to the big blind Fahad Alanazi who tossed in the difference. Villa bet again on the flop 3♦ 5♠ K♠ for 700,000 and Alanazi check-called. On the turn 2♣ , Villa banged out 2,000,000 sending Alanazi tanking until he decided it was best to fold.

Hand #10: Action folds around to small blind Fahad Alanazi who jams and wins the blinds and ante.

Kang is ahead with two pair which holds on the turn 3♣ and river T♠ .

Hand #3: Joungwoo Park opens 500,000 and everyone folds.

Hand #4: Joungwoo Park raises again for 500,000 and still no callers.

Hand #5: Hernan Villa raises 500,000 from hijack and Beomhui Kang calls from cutoff. When the flop runs 9♥ A♠ 6♥ , Villa bets another 500,000 and Kang calls again. Villa decides to check the turn 4♦ , Kang reaches in and pulls out a 1,000,000 bet, Villa folds.

Hand #6: Vamerdino Magsakay raises 500,000 and wins the blinds and ante.

Hand #7: Beomhui Kang picks up another pot with a raise of 600,000 uncalled.

After nine hours of play, the final 9 playera of the record breaking Okada Million is set! They are now all guaranteed PHP 165,000 (~US$ 2,895) with the top prize looming over their heads worth PHP 1,877,574 (~US$ 32,590). Leading the pack is Hernan Villa, the first ever champion of this event.

Facing a raise of 435,000, short stacked Joemark Vasay goes all in for less. He opens 5♦ 6♦ and is behind Beomhui Kang's Q♣ J♦ . The board offers no help as it runs A♣ 2♥ 3♠ 3♣ T♥ . Vasay is eliminated in 20th place.

Royly Oracion opens 130,000, button Beomhui Kang and small blind Fahad Alanazi join in to see a flop 6♥ A♠ J♦ . Oracion continues for 175,000 only to be met with a jam of 1,685,000 from Kang, Alanazi folds and Oracion follows behind.

Royly Oracion bumps it up to 140,000 only to get repopped to 390,000 by Beomhui Kang. Oracion responds with a shove of 1,170,000 and Kang gives it up.

Following a raise of 110,000 from cutoff, small blind Royly Oracion three-bets all in for 460,000 with K♥ 7♣ in the hole. Big blind Beomhui Kang four-bets all in and successfully isolates before showing A♠ 9♥ .

With the board running K♠ 8♦ 7♠ 6♥ 2♥ , Oracion survives the race and doubles through.

Taking a look at the big stacks, Beomhui Kang has 2.3M and told us he won a pot with pocket Aces against pocket Threes. He also caught a bluffer, calling J9 offsuit on a board 5♥ 7♣ T♥ K♠ A♠ . The bluffer hand 6♥ 9♥ .

Beomhui Kang has been grinding had to more than doubled his day's starting stack. On one hand, he opened for 35,000 and got called by Glen Lee. After they both checked the flop A♦ 9♥ 4♣ , Lee bet 15,000 on the turn 4♥ to which Kang raised to 95,000. Lee gave it a quick thought then folded.
