With the prize pool at the end of Day 1C’s registration at PhP14,812,521 (~US$263,780), Day 1D is underway and later it will be determined how much the final payouts will be as Day 1C’s 396 is the most of the three qualifiers thus far and brought in 59 new players that are already ITM and moving on to Day 2.

Unlike the previous Day 1s, however, Canada’s Niroshan Loganathan was a steady force after picking up the chip lead before the midway mark of the competition and despite several upheavals—mostly from the Filipino layers—he was able to build on it and coast until the end.

Loganathan was believed to have burst the bubble when he busted Filipino Alexis Lim. But it proved to be the penultimate elimination as the bubble was burst not long after when Singapore’s Thomas Po called the shove of Filipino short-stack Mark Anthony Chua who went all-in with A♠ T♠ and was behind all the way against Po’s A♠ J♦ as the board blanked out ensuring the final 59 who will be moving on.

The Canadian finished hostilities with 679,000 in chips while being pursued by three Filipinos in Kevin Mateo in second with 485,000, Richard Marquez in third with 451,000 and Mark Solsona with 441,000. Fifth place was held by Taiwan’s Lin Yu Hsien for 408,000.

A total of 140 now comprise those seeing action in Day 2 which takes place tomorrow (June 15) still at 12:00NN (UCT+8).

The action is folded to the blinds where Shohei Murao of Japan raises all-in for his last 56,000 and gets called in the BB by the Philippines’ Moses Saquing who barely covers him.

Murao shows T♠ T♥ and is in a flip for his tournament life against Saquing’s A♣ Q♣ ,

The runout goes K♥ J♦ 6♠ 9♣ 7♦ as Murao dodges all of the Filipino’s outs to double up and a;; but obliterates Saquing’s stack.

The action is opened from the +1 position and gets four callers.

The flop is Q♦ 6♥ 8♦ as all five players in the pot check. The turn is the 2♣ as Japan’s Shohei Murao checks again from the SB. Joshua Chargualaf of Guam bets 2,200 from the BB and it folds back to Murao who calls. It is suddenly Heads-Up to the river where the 8♠ arrives and the two remaining players check.

Murao shows K♠ 6♠ for bottom pair on the flop and is surprised when Chargualaf mucks his hand.

Japan’s Shohei Murao opens it up from UTG for 600 and gets called by Choi Jihun of Korea in the +1 position and another Japanese player in Koji Okazaki in the BB.

The flop is K♦ 5♣ T♦ as all three check. The turn is the 5♥ as Okazaki bets 800 and it’s enough to take down the pot.
