With the prize pool at the end of Day 1C’s registration at PhP14,812,521 (~US$263,780), Day 1D is underway and later it will be determined how much the final payouts will be as Day 1C’s 396 is the most of the three qualifiers thus far and brought in 59 new players that are already ITM and moving on to Day 2.

Unlike the previous Day 1s, however, Canada’s Niroshan Loganathan was a steady force after picking up the chip lead before the midway mark of the competition and despite several upheavals—mostly from the Filipino layers—he was able to build on it and coast until the end.

Loganathan was believed to have burst the bubble when he busted Filipino Alexis Lim. But it proved to be the penultimate elimination as the bubble was burst not long after when Singapore’s Thomas Po called the shove of Filipino short-stack Mark Anthony Chua who went all-in with A♠ T♠ and was behind all the way against Po’s A♠ J♦ as the board blanked out ensuring the final 59 who will be moving on.

The Canadian finished hostilities with 679,000 in chips while being pursued by three Filipinos in Kevin Mateo in second with 485,000, Richard Marquez in third with 451,000 and Mark Solsona with 441,000. Fifth place was held by Taiwan’s Lin Yu Hsien for 408,000.

A total of 140 now comprise those seeing action in Day 2 which takes place tomorrow (June 15) still at 12:00NN (UCT+8).

Chip leader Niroshan Loganathan of Canada opens from the +1 position for 17,000 and it gets folded around to the BB where the Philippines’ Alexis Lim goes all-in for his last 146,000. Loganathan makes the call.

Lim tables K♣ J♣ which are live cards to Loganathan’s A♠ Q♠ .

The flop quickly reduces the Filipino’s chances: 9♠ 2♠ Q♣ as now only a King can extend his stay. The turn card is the 8♠ and the river is the 5♠ .

Lim is out in 61st place as Day 1C is now officially on the bubble.

Philippines' Aaron Cuason limps in from the HJ and gets the CO to call. Folded to the SB, Jannodin Riga of the Philippines raises it 12,000 as it gets 3-bet by chip leader Niroshan Loganathan of Canada in the BB to 26,000. Cuason 4-bet shoves his last 45,000 as the CO folds and Riga 5-bet shoves for his last 121,000. Loganathan opts to step aside.

Cuason tables J♠ J♦ and is unfortunate that he runs into Riga’s K♥ K♠ .

The flop puts the matter beyond doubt: K♣ K♦ 7♣ as the Filipino gets quads and has his Filipino opponent drawing dead. The last two community cards are the 3♦ and the 6♥ as Cuason becomes the latest Day 1C casualty.

With a hand in progress showing a flop of 8♦ K♦ 6♦ and already 8,100 in the middle, Niroshan Loganathan of Canada checks it from the SB as do Filipino Joseph Michael Avelino from UTG and Singapore’s Arvin Tamilsilvan in the CO.

The turn card is the Q♥ as Loganathan now bets for 2,000 and gets both his opponents to call. The river is the 5♥ as this time, the Canadian unloads 10,600. Avelino folds but Tamilsilvan makes the call.

Loganathan turns over 6♣ 6♥ for bottom set on the flop as Tamilsilvan opts to muck his hand.
