Needing to dodge all the American’s outs, Kang sees the last two community cards are the 5♣ and the 5♥ officially boot out Boldt in eleventh place and bring the Main Event to the cusp pf the Final Table.

The next elimination misses out on the opportunity to get an APPT Super Qualifier package.

From the D, Czar Ian Marcos of the Philippines raises it up to 325,000 and gets a BB defense from the United States’ Alex Boldt.

The flop is Q♦ 9♥ K♠ as Boldt checks. Marcos CBets for 160,000and gets check-raised by the American to 600,000. Marcos calls. The turn is the 4♦ as Boldt goes all-in for and gets a snap call from the Filipino for his remaining stack of 1,535,000.

Boldt shows A♣ 5♣ which has hit nothing, but Marcos does table J♥ T♥ for the nut straight on the flop.

With Boldt drawing dead, the river card is the 2♠ making the crippling of Boldt official.

Marcos now has the chip lead in his crosshairs.

The action folds the HJ where Taiwan’s Lin Yu Hsien goes for it all by committing his remaining stack of 665,000 to the middle and he gets a caller in the SB in Alex Boldt of the United States.

Lin shows A♣ Q♦ while Boldt has live cards with 9♥ 8♥ .

The first four community cards favor Lin: 3♦ T♣ 6♦ 5♠ but the river card is the 9♦ to give the win to the American and Lin’s Main Event run ends.

The action opens from the +2 position for 200,000 and it gets folded to the D where Alex Boldt of the United States 3-bet shoves for his last 800,000. In the BB, Korea’s Kang Seunghyup 4-bet shoves which gets the original raiser out of the way.

Boldt shows A♥ T♦ but is dominated by Kang’s A♦ J♥ .

The flop goes 3♦ 5♦ 9♣ but the turn brings in the T♥ to give the lead to the American. The river card is the 5♣ as the outdraw by Boldt keeps hm in the competition and brings the Korean’s stack down to manageable levels.

The action gets folded to the Philippines’ Royly Oracion who limps in from the D. It gets to the BB where Alex Boldt of the United States raises it to 225,000. Oracion calls.

The flop is J♥ Q♥ 5♣ as Boldt CBets for 500,000. Oracion proceeds to go all-n for his remaining stack of 635,000 and Boldt makes the call.

The Filipino tables J♦ 7♦ for second pair which is ahead of Boldt’s A♥ 8♦ .

The last two community cards are the 5♣ and the 2♠ as the Filipino doubles up at the expense of Boldt who sees his stack drop even further.

Alex Boldt of the United States has the action folded to him on the HJ and opens for 125,000. On the D, the Philippines’ Edilberto Gopez makes the call.

The flop comes 9♣ 3♠ 3♣ as Boldt continues for 180,000. Gopez calls. The turn is the 3♥ and the American fires again, this time for 280,000. Gopez then declares he is all-in for his last 1,000,000. Boldt can’t pull the trigger and opts to let the Filipino take it down.

Gopez now has over two million in chips.

It folds to the D where Poland’s Lukasz Jankowski takes the plunge for his remaining stack of 150,000 as Pang Ying of England 3-bet shoves his last 310,000 from the SB. Seeing the size of the pot, big stack Alex Boldt of the United States comes along for the ride from the BB.

Jankowski turns over 6♦ 6♣ while Pang shows A♦ J♦ . Boldt has 6♥ 5♥ .

The flop is 9♠ Q♣ Q♥ but the turn card brings in the A♣ to give Pang the lead and have Boldt drawing dead. Needing the last six in the deck to survive, the river card produces the 3♣ instead as the Polish player hits the rail courtesy of the Englishman.

Boldt hardly felt the hit.

The United States’ Alex Boldt opens from UTG for 25,000 and the action folds to the CO where fellow big stack Lance de Vera of the Philippines 3-bets it to 75,000. It folds back to Boldt 4-bets to 210,000 and on de Vera’s turn he 5-bets to 375,000. Boldt then shoves and the Filipino quickly calls. The American barely covers de Vera.

Boldt is first to show and turns over A♠ A♣ while a disgruntled de Vera tables Q♥ Q♠ .

The runout goes 9♠ T♦ 9♥ 5♠ 8♠ as suddenly the balance of power shifts and the Day 1D chip leader and the fourth biggest stack entering this Main Event finale hits the sidelines for good.

Boldt is now the Main Event chip leader.

It folds to the HJ where Alex Boldt of the United States raises it up to 16,000. It folds to the BB where the Philippines’ Justine Talaroc 3-bets it to 32,000. Boldt calls.

The flop is 2♦ 7♣ Q♦ as Talaroc continues firing, this time for 27,000. Boldt makes the call. The turn card is the 7♠ as this time both check. The river is the K♣ as Talaroc comes to live anew and brings in 55,000. Boldt raises all-in for his last 201,000 as Talaroc makes the quick call.

Boldt flips over K♠ Q♠ for two pairs on the river while Talaroc shows A♦ K♥ for top pair on the river.

The American gets a massive pick up which now puts him among the big stacks.
