The flop comes A♦ 4♠ 5♠ to give the Filipino the lead. The turn is the Q♠ to even bring in the nut flush redraw for Pardales. However, the river card is the 7♦ to give the Indian a set and send his opponent out of the tournament.

The flop is A♦ Q♦ T♣ to give Miyatake the nuts: a Broadway straight while Kitamura gets middle set. The turn is the 6♦ but the river is the T♥ to pair the board and give Kitamura a full house to bust his compatriot in ninth place via an unfortunate bad beat.

The remaining eight players are now all guarantee PhP25,000 (~US$450)

Steward successfully wields his massive stack.

Korea’s Jong Seonghun opens from the +1 position for 20,000 as it folds to Katsuhito Kawai of Japan who commits his last 14,000 to the pot from the D. The Philippines’ Joey Pardales also calls from the SB as does big stack Leon Steward of Abkhazia from the BB.

The flop is 3♣ 2♦ 2♣ as Pardales checks. Steward bets 20,000 as Jong calls but Pardales comes in for a check-raise to 48,000. Steward calls but Jong folds. It is Heads Up to the turn for the side pot as the 9♥ arrives. Pardales goes all-in for his last 50,000 and Steward makes the call.

Pardales turns over 8♣ 8♦ while Steward needs help on the river as he tables A♥ 3♦ for a lower two pair.

The river card is the T♥ as the huge side pot is awarded to the Filipino.

For the main pot, Kawai shows Q♠ Q♥ for a quadruple up.

Steward’s stack takes a notable hit.
