Main Event (18,500 PHP)

The penultimate flight of the Manila Super Series ₱18,500 Main Event has ended here at Okada Manila. Flight C attracted 245 entrants and by the end of the night just 37 players remained.

Ko Okubo finished the night with the chip lead after bagging 459,000. Okubo took the chip lead late in the night after eliminating Jaehyoon Ahn and never looked back from there. Okubo is most closely followed by Taisuke Nina (437,000) while Sangjae Kim rounds out the top three with 425,000.

Players yet to have advanced to Day 2 still have one more chance as Flight D, featuring a turbo structure, started earlier today at 6:00 p.m. local time.

Jaybee Hernan Villa opened to 12,000 from under the gun and Seoha Lee defended from the big blind. The flop came A♣ T♣ 9♥ . Lee checked, Villa bet 20,000, Lee check-raised to 45,000 and Villa shoved for 126,000. Lee snap-called with a covering stack to put Villa at risk.

The rest of the board ran out Q♣ 4♣ . Villa had top pair, top kicker but Lee had two pair, aces and tens to eliminate Villa on the stone bubble and win the final hand of the night.

John Cylde Tan opened to 12,000 from the hijack and Dmitrii Belikov called from the button. The flop came T♦ 6♥ 8♦ Belikov called an 8,000 continuation bet from Tan.

Tan check-called a 33,000 bet from Belikov on the 3♦ turn before both players checked the Q♠ river.

Tan had rivered top pair with Q♦ J♥ but Belikov had an overpair with K♦ K♠ to win the pot.

Taisuke Nina opened to 12,000 from early position, Michael Gabby Concepcion called from the cutoff and Seoha Lee called from the button. The flop came 7♣ A♥ K♣ . Nina bet 9,000 and both opponents called.

Nina checked the J♦ turn and Concepcion bet 37,000. Lee called while Nina folded. On the 5♦ river Concepcion shoved and this time Lee opted to fold.

Oliver Richert Kubalek shoved for 55,000 from the small blind and Michael Gabby Concepcion called with a covering stack from the big blind to put him at risk.

Kubalek was dominated and after finding no help on the A♣ 2♣ A♠ T♣ T♥ runout he was eliminated two spots shy of making the money while Concepcion took the last of his chips.

Fung Lee Carson Kam opened to 10,000 from under the gun and Benjamin Ebarle called from the big blind. The flop came 3♠ J♣ 4♥ and Ebarle check-called a 10,000 bet from Kam.

Ebarle checked the 2♦ turn and Kam bet 30,000. Ebarle raised to 60,000, Kam shoved for 87,000 and Ebarle called with a covering stack.

Kam had top set but was behind Ebarle who had the nut-straight. The 3♦ river improved Kam to a full house and he doubled up through Ebarle.

Jack Li shoved for 48,000 from the cutoff and Joemark Vasay called from the small blind with a covering stack.

The 4♠ K♣ T♠ 3♣ 2♣ runout gave Li top pair to double through Vasay.

John Clyde Tan opened to 11,000 from under the gun and received calls from a player in the hijack and Liberty Icao in the big blind. The flop came 9♥ 7♥ 8♣ and Icao led out with an 18,000 bet that only Tan called.

Icao continued for 30,000 on the as turn and Tan called again. On the 3♥ river Icao bet 60,000 and Tan called once more.

Icao only had bottom pair with 6♦ 3♣ while Tan had top two pair with A♦ 9♠ to win the pot.

Taisuke Nina opened to 10,000 from under the gun, Marc Gagne called from the hijack and Seunghyeon Son called from the cutoff. The flop came 4♥ 5♥ 8♣ and action checked around to Son who shoved for 25,000. Nina called, Gagne re-shoved for 77,000 and Nina called again with a covering stack to put both players at risk.

Son had queen-high, Gagne had a king-high flush draw and Nina was a big favorite with a set of fives. The 3♥ 4♠ runout kept Nina in the lead to take down a colossal pot while sending two players to the rail.

Dmitrii Belikov opened to 8,000 from early position and Jun Amsic shoved for 82,000 from the button. Belikov called with a covering stack to put Amsic at risk.

Belikov got the best of the preflop flip when the board ran out 3♥ 3♠ 5♦ K♥ 7♦ and he eliminated Amsic.

Seoha Lee opened to 8,000 from the hijack. Matzusaki Hiroyuki shoved from the small blind for 70,000 and Lee called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Hiroyuki was the favorite and remained ahead with pocket tens on the Q♦ 6♦ 9♦ 4♠ 5♦ runout to double up through Lee.

In a preflop confrontation Dexter Santos was all in for 29,000 from middle position, Matzusaki Hiroyuki was all in for 57,000 from under the gun and they were up against Seoha Lee who had both covered from the button.

The flop came A♦ 3♦ 3♥ 2♦ 5♣ . Santos was best with two pair, aces and threes to triple up. Hiroyuki was second-best two pair, kings and threes to take the side pot.

David Howard shoved for 45,000 from the hijack and Michael Calunsod called from the small blind with a covering stack to put Howard at risk.

Calunsod’s aces remained ahead the whole way and he won the pot while Howard was sent to the rail and made his exit.

Jonald Garcia shoved for 78,000 from the button and Taisuke Nina called from the big blind with a covering stack.

The board ran out A♦ 9♠ J♠ 4♠ 4♦ giving Nina two pair, aces and fours to eliminate Garcia.

Michael Reuben Calonsod opened to 6,500 from early position and received a call from a player in the cutoff before Hui Sun shoved for 20,500 from the button. Calonsod called with a covering stack while the cutoff folded.

The board ran out 3♦ 9♥ K♣ T♣ 7♦ giving Calonsod a set to send Sun to the rail.

Corral Raul Paez limped in from middle position, a player in the small blind limped behind, Akihiro Yamada shoved for 58,000 from the big blind, Paez called and the small blind folded.

Paez remained ahead with ace-high on the 8♠ 3♦ 2♥ 9♠ 6♣ runout to knock out Yamada.

Although the action was missed, Seoha Lee recently eliminated Milbert Bautista in a huge pot and currently holds the chip lead at 414,000.

Although the action was missed, Sangjae Kim recently eliminated Zhiqiang Liu with ace-queen versus Zhiqiang’s ace-eight and is now sitting at just over 400,000 In chips.

Jimin Won shoved for 18,000 from early position and Seunghyeon Son called from middle position with a covering stack.

Jimin was dominated by a bigger ace and after finding no help on the 9♥ 5♣ 4♥ 7♦ T♦ runout he exited the tournament area while Son took the last of his chips.

Kento Chogo opened to 6,500 from the hijack, Jason Kyle Magbanua called from the cutoff, players in the button and small blind called and Jaehyoun Ahn called in the big blind.

The flop came 7♣ 8♠ 2♥ and action checked around to Chogo who bet 7,500. Only Magbanua and Ahn called. Chogo continued for 11,000 when checked to on the K♠ turn and this time only Magbanua called. Both players then checked the 3♦ river.

Chogo had a pair of sevens with 7♠ 6♠ but Magbanua had him beat with T♣ 8♣ for a pair of eights to win the pot.

Sergei Korzhenko limped in from the small blind and Zackary Lazarus checked from the big blind. The flop came 3♥ 4♠ 5♥ and Kerzhenko fired a 5,000 bet that Lazarus called.

Korzheko bet another 5,000 on the 8♣ turn and Lazarus called again. On the A♦ river Korzhenko bet 5,000 for a third time and Lazarus called. Korzhenko had top pair with A♠ 7♦ but Lazarus had a set with 3♠ 3♦ to win the pot.

Milbert Bautista opened to 6,000 from the cutoff and received calls from a player in the small blind and Seoha Lee in the big blind. The flop came Q♣ 4♣ 3♠ and action checked around to Bautista who bet 6,000. The small blind folded, Lee raised to 16,000 and Bautista called.

On the 9♠ turn Seoha bet 24,500. Bautista raised to 90,000, Lee shoved for 139,000 and Bautista called with a covering stack to put Lee at risk.

Bautista was ahead with two pair while Lee had a pair of nines and a flush draw. The flush came in on the 2♣ river and Lee dragged in a massive pot at Bautista’s expense.

With two players seeing a board of 8♣ 9♣ Q♦ and 47,500 in the middle Hernan Jaybee Villa checked from the cutoff and Nakayama Nobuaki bet 16,000 from the button. Villa check-raised to 45,000 and Nobuaki folded.

Whan Kim Jung opened to 4,000 from middle position and Hernan Jaybee Villa called from the small blind.

The flop came 6♣ 3♣ 3♥ and Villa checked. Jung bet 4,000, Villa raised to 14,500, Jung three-bet to 35,000, Villa shoved with a covering stack and Jung folded.

In a preflop confrontation Yongjin Jun was all in for 16,000 from the big blind, Corral Raul Paez was all in for 43,500 from the hijack and they were up against Joseroy Jeremias who had them covered from under the gun.

The board ran out T♦ 7♣ 8♥ K♠ J♥ giving Paez a set of tens to crack Jeremias’ aces and eliminate Jun.

A player from the hijack opened to 5,000, Jeter Initia shoved for 80,000 from the button and Ichiyo Niwa called from the small blind while the hijack got out of the way.

Niwa’s pair of queens were good at showdown and he took the pot while Initia was sent to the rail.

Lemmor Patulot limped in from the small blind, Ashley Patterson shoved from the big blind for 28,000 and Patulot called with a covering stack to put Patterson at risk.

The board ran out T♦ K♥ 3♦ J♠ 9♥ giving Patulot a straight to send Patterson to the rail and claim the last of his chips.

In a preflop confrontation Ryan Tan was all in for 19,000 from the cutoff and up against Richard Marquez who had 41,000 from under the gun and Joemark Vasay who covered both players from early position.

Tan had the best hand with top pair to triple up while Vasay took the side pot with his pair of sixes and Marquez was sent to the rail.

John Carlo Sayo shoved for 27,000 from middle position, Li Ming Liu re-shoved for 58,000 from the hijack and Nakayama Nobuaki called from the button with a covering stack to put both players at risk.

Nobuaki was in great shape to score the double knockout but the 3♥ 7♠ J♥ 7♥ 3♠ runout gave Sayo quads to triple up. Nobuaki took the side pot with jacks full of sevens while Liu was sent to the rail.

Joseroy Jeremias opened to 6,000 from the cutoff, Jack Li three-bet to 35,000 from the button, Jeremias shoved for 63,000 and Li called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Both players had premium pocket pairs but Jeremias was ahead with aces and remained so on the A♠ T♦ J♥ T♠ 6♦ runout to double up through Li.

Both players checked the Q♣ turn leading to the A♣ river. Hayashida checked, Bautista bet 8,000, Hayashida check-raised to 30,000 and Bautista tank-called.

Hayashida only had king-high with K♦ 8♣ . Bautista turned over A♥ 7♥ for top pair to take down a nice pot.

Jonald Garcia opened to 5,000 from middle position and Jimin Won called from the small blind.

The flop came 6♣ 5♦ A♠ and both players checked leading to the ah turn. Won check-called a 4,500 bet from Garcia.

Garcia bet 18,000 when checked to on the 2♠ river and this time Won folded.

Ashley Patterson opened to 5,500 from under the gun, Sergei Korzhenko called from the button, a player in the small blind called and Lemmor Patulot defended from the big blind.

The flop came 8♦ ah 9♥ and action checked around to Patterson who bet 7,500. Korzhenko called, the small blind folded and Patulot called.

The three remaining players checked the J♠ turn leading to the 8♣ river. Patulot bet 20,300, Patterson called and Korzhenko mucked.

Patulot showed a straight with Q♦ T♦ which was enough to win the hand.

Joey Agustin limped from the hijack, a player in the cutoff limped behind, Jester Initia raised to 22,000 from the big blind, Agustin shoved for 36,500, the cutoff folded and Initia called with a covering stack.

Agustin made trips on the 8♦ K♥ 3♣ K♠ 5♠ runout but Initia had flopped a set and turned a full house to send Agustin to the rail and claim the last of his chips.

Jeffrey Pamplona shoved from the button for 21,000 and Kotaro Hayashida called from the small blind with a covering stack to put him at risk.

The board ran out giving Hayashida top pair to eliminate Pamplona.

On the 4♣ river Jho bet 30,000, Mesina shoved with a covering stack and Jho, who had 40,500 behind, made the call for his tournament life. Mesina had 9♠ 6♠ for two pair but Jho had turned a straight with K♦ Q♦ to double up through Mesina.

Sohiel was a big favorite to double up with pocket queens until the 3♠ 6♣ J♣ A♠ 5♠ runout gave Korzhenko top pair to send Sohiel to the rail and take the pot.

That’s a wrap for late registration and reentries in Flight C of the Main Event. The penultimate starting flight attracted 246 entrants making it the largest field so far across the first three starting flights. The action will conclude when 37 players remain at which point all remaining players will advance to Day 2 and be in the money.

Nina check-called another bet from Lee on the K♦ turn, this time for 3,500. On the J♠ river Nina check-called an 11,500 bet from Lee, who could only show A♦ Q♠ for ace-high. Nina turned over trips with Q♦ J♣ to win the pot.

In a preflop confrontation Daiki Shirashima was all in for 29,800 from under the gun and Fung Lee Carson Kam called from the button with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Shirashima’s pocket tens held up on the 5♣ Q♦ 4♦ 3♦ 7♣ runout and he doubled through Kam.

Christopher Pasion opened to 2,600 from under the gun and received calls from Jensen Rex Chow in the cutoff and a player in the big blind.

The flop came 5♦ 6♦ 5♠ . The big blind checked and Pasion bet 3,500. Chow shoved for 13,600, the big blind folded and Pasion called with a covering stack to put Chow at risk.

Jeremias was a big favorite facing only one overcard to his pocket queens but the 7♣ 8♠ 6♥ 2♥ T♣ runout gave Asehan a straight to earn a significant double up while Jeremias was left short-stacked.

With two players seeing a board of 2♣ 2c Q♦ 3♠ and 17,900 in the middle Jaybee Hernan Villa checked from under the gun and Yiu Yeung Leung bet 5,500 from the hijack. Villa called.

Villa check-called another bet from Leung on the 7♦ river, this time for 22,000. Villa had top pair with A♣ Q♥ but Leung had an overpair with K♦ K♠ to win the pot.

With two players seeing a board of 8♣ T♥ A♣ A♥ and 23,800 in the middle Seoha Lee checked from early position, Jonald Garcia bet 8,200 from the cutoff and Lee called.

Garcia bet 1,200 when checked to on the J♦ turn. Lee shoved with a covering stack and Garcia folded.

With two players seeing a board of 3♠ 6♣ K♣ and 24,200 in the middle Christopher Pasion shoved from the big blind and Jess Dalipe, who only had 4,600 behind, made the call for his tournament life.

Dalipe had a better made hand with ace-high and a queen kicker but Pasion had the nut-flush draw. The 4♥ A♠ runout kept Dalipe in the lead and he doubled up through Pasion.

Matzusaki Hiroyuki opened to 3,500 from early position, Tomohiro Kawada shoved for 16,900 from the cutoff and Hiroyuki called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

The board gave Hiroyuki top pair to eliminate Kawada.

Kazuki Yamashita opened to 3,000 from the hijack and Nozomu Yoshida defended from the big blind. The flop came 9♦ Q♦ 8♥ and Yoshida led out with a 3,000 bet that Yamashita called. Yoshida continued for 4,000 on the 8♥ turn and Yamashita called again.

On the 5♦ river Yoshida check-called a 9,000 bet from Yamashita. Yamashita had two pair with A♦ 8♠ but Yoshida had a better two pair with A♣ Q♥ to win the pot.

With two players seeing a board of 5♥ 8♦ T♣ 9♠ and 16,200 in the middle Michael Bueza checked from the small blind, Ko Okubo bet 6,800 from the big blind and Bueza called.

On the T♠ river Okubo shoved and Bueza, who had 24,700 behind and was covered, called for his tournament life.

Bueza had two pair with Q♥ Q♠ but Okubo had rivered trips with Q♣ T♥ to send Bueza to the rail and win the last of his chips.

Kim check-called another bet from Chen on the T♣ turn, this time for 7,000. On the 7♣ river Kim led out with a 15,000 shove and Chen folded.

With two players seeing a board of 7♠ K♥ 3♣ and 17,100 in the middle Lemmor Patulot checked from early position and Ashley Patterson bet 4,400 from the hijack. Patulot raised to 15,000 and Patterson called.

Chua shoved when checked to on the K♣ turn and this time it was enough to get a fold from Akbarpoor.

Jeffrey Ponce opened to 3,500 from the cutoff and Chun Yuan Chen defended from the big blind. Both players checked the 3♠ 9♥ 3♣ flop leading to the A♦ turn. Chen check-called a 3,500 bet from Ponce.

On the Q♥ river Chen checked, Ponce bet 3,500 and Chen check-raised to 20,000. Ponce called. Chen showed two pair with Q♣ 9♣ . Ponce revealed the 9♠ in his hand before mucking and Chen took the pot.

Hernan Jaybee Villa opened to 2,000 from early position, Ryuki Shirase called from the button and Saito Takashi called from the big blind.

The flop came 2♥ T♦ K♦ . Takashi checked, Villa bet 2,100, Shirase called and Takashi shoved for 12,700. Villa re-shoved with a covering stack and Shirase, who had 20,700, called and was also at risk.

Villa just had a pair of nines but despite two overcards on the flop he was ahead of his opponents who both had a flush draw. No flush came in on the 2♠ J♠ runout and Villa eliminated both opponents to take down a sizable pot.

Matzusaki Hiroyuki open-shoved to 13,100 from early position and Junsuke Shigemura called the hijack with his stack of 11,300 and was at risk.

The board ran out 2♠ 6♥ 9♠ A♥ J♠ giving Hiroyuki a rivered pair of jacks to send Shigemura to the rail and collect nearly a full double up.

Ryuki Shirase opened to 2,500 from under the gun and Li Ming Liu called from the hijack. The flop came 8♣ 5♣ A♠ and Shirase fired a 3,000 continuation bet that was called by Liu.

Shirase continued for 4,500 on the 6♦ turn and Liu called again. On the 3♣ river Shirase bet 4,000 and Liu called once more. Shirase immediately mucked and Liu won the pot without having to reveal their hole cards.

A player from early position opened to 2,200, Bonifacio Mondalo three-bet to 5,500, Lemmor Petulot four-bet to 16,100 and both opponents folded.

A player from under the gun opened to 2,200, Joemark Vasay called from early position, Nozomo Yoshida raised to 5,500 from the hijack, the original opener folded and Vasay called.

On the 7♦ 3♥ 4♠ flop Vasay checked and Yoshida bet 4,000. Vasay shoved for 24,500 and Yoshida folded.

With three players seeing a board of 6♣ 2♠ 2♦ and 8,700 in the middle Anastasios Pavlou checked from the big blind, Gary Joel Herstein shoved for 10,500 from middle position, Leummor Patulot called from the button and Pavlou raised to 25,000, forcing a fold from Patulot.

Herstein was drawing dead by the turn when the board ran out 7♥ 3♠ and exited the tournament area while Pavlou won a decent pot.

In a preflop confrontation Nakayama Nobuaki was all in for 33,300 from the small blind and up against Chirag Shah who had him covered from the cutoff.

The 8♥ 2♣ 2♠ 9♦ A♥ runout gave Nobuaki top pair on the river to double up through Shah.

Dexter Santos shoved for 9,900 from middle position and Yoshihiro Noguchi called from the small blind with a covering stack to put Santos at risk.

The board ran out 6♣ Q♣ A♦ 9♥ 2♦ giving Santos top two pair to double through Noguchi.

With two players seeing a board of A♠ 7♥ Q♠ and 17,900 in the middle Jeoffrey Sibal checked from the small blind and Li Ming Liu bet 5,000 from early position, receiving a call from Sibal.

Both players checked the 4♦ turn leading to the 9♠ river. Sibal bet 2,500, Liu shoved with a covering stack and Sibal folded.

Joseph Talamayan opened to 1,700 from early position and received calls from three players including Kazuki Yamashita in the cutoff.

The flop came 2♠ 4♥ A♥ and action checked around to Talamayon who bet 3,300. Yamashita shoved for 15,000 and all three opponents folded.

Michael Bueza opened to 1,800 from under the gun and was called by Howerd Doerfling in the small blind and a player in the big blind. The flop came 4♣ 9♦ 6♥ and action checked around to Bueza who bet 1,600. Only Doerfling called. Both players checked the 5♠ turn leading to the 3♠ river. Doerfling bet 3,000 and received a call from Bueza.

Doerfling showed a straight with T♦ 7♦ and Bueza mucked his hand.

With three players seeing a board of 4♦ 5♦ T♦ and 6,000 in the middle Milbert Bautista checked from the small blind, Jinsung Chung checked from under the gun, Yuji Tsuboi bet 2,000 from the button and Bautista shoved, covering both players. Chung called with his remaining stack of 28,600 and Tsuboi called with a remaining stack of 21,500.

Tsuboi had a set of fives but was behind Bautista who had flopped the second-nut flush while Chung was on the nut-flush draw. Bautista remained ahead on the K♥ J♣ runout to send both opponents to the rail and claim a massive pot.

Takemi Munakata opened to 1,500 from the hijack, Liberty Icao raised to 4,000 from the cutoff and Munakata called. The flop came 4♥ 7♠ T♣ and Munakata check-called a 7,000 bet from Icao.

On the 6♣ turn Munakata checked, Icao shoved for 16,000 and Munakata folded.

Sergei Korzhenko opened to 1,300 from middle position and received three calls including Ralph Dwanne Palencia in the small blind.

The flop came 9♣ A♦ T♣ and Palencia led out with a 2,000 bet that only Korzhenko called.
