Main Event (18,500 PHP)

The second of four starting flights has ended in the Manila Super Series ₱18,500 Main Event here at Okada Manila. Flight B featured 141 entrants and by the end of the night only 21 players managed to find a bag and advance to Day 2.

Rancy Cyril Lee finished the night with the chip lead after bagging 804,000. Lee went on a late-night heater and applied relentless aggression on the bubble en route to bagging the largest stack. Lee is most closely followed by JC Mariano (595,000) while Tamon Nakamura rounds out the top three with 387,000.

There are still two more starting flights to go. Flight C takes place tomorrow at noon while later that evening the final flight, featuring a turbo structure, will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Rancy Cyril Lee opened to 30,000 from the hijack, Edgar asehan shoved for 95,000 from the cutoff and Lee called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Asehan had second pair but Lee had flopped the nut-straight to send Asehan to the rail on the stone bubble.

Rancy Cyril Lee shoved from the button and Edwin Dela Cruz, who had 99,000 and was covered, made the call for his tournament life.

The board ran out J♣ A♦ 7♠ 6♥ A♠ giving Cruz trip aces to double up through Lee.

John Jay Magadan shoved for 29,000 from the small blind and Kunwoo Dk Kim called from the big blind with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Magadan had his opponent dominated and after remaining ahead on the A♥ K♥ 3♥ 9♠ 7♠ runout he doubled up.

Lenart Ecarma opened to 13,000 from under the gun and Akihiro Yamada defended from the big blind.

Both players checked the 7♥ 2♦ 6♠ leading to the Q♠ turn. Yamada checked, Ecarma bet 35,000 and Yamada called.

Ecarma shoved for 40,000 when checked to on the 4♥ river and Yamada called again. Yamada had a pair with T♠ 7♠ but Ecarma had top two pair with A♥ Q♣ to double up on the bubble.

With two players seeing a board of 8♥ 2♥ 7♦ T♣ and 49,000 in the middle J.C. Mariano checked from the big blind and Rancy Cyril Lee bet 25,000 from middle position. Mariano called. Mariano then led out 40,000 on the T♣ turn, Lee raised to 150,000, and Mariano folded.

Ganbold seemed poised to bubble with trips and an inferior kicker but a miraculous J♠ river gave him a full house to double up through Cruz on the stone bubble.

Espela remained ahead with the higher pocket pair on the A♣ J♦ runout to double up through Lee.

Chen failed to connect with either of his overcards on the 8♣ 2♠ A♥ 9♦ 8♠ runout and was eliminated two spots shy of making the money while Nakamura won the last of his chips.

Players are now on the stone bubble with 22 remaining and 21 advancing to Day 2 and making the money.

With two players seeing a board of 2♦ 2♣ 2♥ 5♥ 3♠ after checking the flop and turn Zhifan Ye bet 16,000 into a pot of 47,000 from the big blind and Jeong Seonghun called from under the gun. Ye turned over K♠ 2♠ and Seonghun mucked.

Ricardo Torres opened to 12,000 from the hijack and received calls from a player in the small blind and Rancy Cyril Lee in the big blind. The flop came A♥ 7♦ 4♥ and action checked around to Torres who bet 8,000. The small blind folded, Lee check-raised to 20,000 and Torres called. The two remaining players checked the A♦ turn and 9♦ river. Lee showed down top pair with A♠ 5♥ , Torres mucked.

Ricardo Torres opened to 11,000 from the cutoff and Juan Mariano called from the button. The flop came K♣ T♣ 7♠ and Mariano called an 8,000 continuation bet from Torres. Torres check-folded to a 16,000 bet from Mariano on the K♦ turn.

Galvez was in great shape to double up with Lee only having to undercards to his pocket kings but the runout gave Lee trips to send Galvez to the rail in brutal fashion and take down another sizable pot.

Tabucal’s pocket jacks had been cracked by Seonghun’s flopped two pair. Seonghun remained ahead on the T♥ 4♣ runout to double up while Tabucal was left severely short-stacked.

The board gave Lee trips kings to send Alvarez to the rail and win the pot.

A player in the cutoff opened to 8,000, Marco Espela three-bet shoved to 57,000 from the button, Rancy Cyril Lee called with a covering stack in the small blind and the cutoff folded.

Things were looking grim for Espela on the 6♣ 8♦ T♠ flop and 3♣ turn but the A♥ river gave him top pair to secure the double up through Lee.

Janno had ace-high, Niwa had a pair, and Lee had top pair to send Niwa to the rail and win the pot.

Cruz got the best of the preflop flip when the runout gave him a pair of tens and he doubled up through Ganbold.

Torres was the favorite with top pair and he remained ahead on the 8♣ 2♥ runout to send Santos to the rail and claim the last of his chips.

With three players seeing a board of 8♥ 6♥ 8♣ and 25,000 in the middle, Marco Espela checked from the big blind and Janno Alvarez bet 5,500 from middle position. Juan Mariano called from the hijack and Espela shoved for 24,500. Alvarez re-shoved with a covering stack and Mariano got out of the way.

Both players had two overcards with Alvarez in the lead with ace-high. The rest of the board ran out 5♠ 7♣ giving Espela a straight to win the pot.

Kei Shinagawa shoved from under the gun for 30,000 and Kimura Yasuaki called from the cutoff with a covering stack to put him at risk.

The board ran out J♥ A♣ 7♦ 2♠ 4♣ . Yasuaki had flopped top two pair but Shinagawa had turned a set of twos and remained ahead to secure the double up.

A player raised to 6,000 from under the gun and received four callers including Rancy Cyril Lee in middle position and Janno Alvarez in the cutoff.

The flop came 4♣ 6♣ 2♠ and action checked around to Alvarez who bet 13,500. Only Lee called.

Both players checked the A♥ turn leading to the T♣ river. Lee bet 30,000 and Alvarez folded.

Edgar Asehan shoved for 51,000 from the cutoff and Lenart Ecarma called from the small blind with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Asehan was dominated but the 5♠ A♦ J♣ 7♦ 4♦ runout gave him the nut-flush to double up through Ecarma.

A player on the button opened to 6,000, Marco Espela three-bet to 21,500, Rancy Cyril Lee called from the big blind and the button folded.

The flop came T♦ 6♥ 4♥ and Espela bet 20,000. Lee made the call.

Espela continued for 35,000 on the K♣ turn and Lee called again.

On the 9♥ river Espela moved all in with a covering stack and Rancy called with his remaining stack of 73,000.

Espela had a set with T♠ T♣ but Lee rivered the nut-flush with A♥ 3♥ to secure a massive double up through Espela.

A player from the hijack opened to 5,000, Rancy Cyril Lee called from the cutoff and Juan Mariano three-bet to 20,000 from the big blind. The hijack folded before Lee called.

The flop came 8♣ 4♣ A♥ and Lee called a 15,000 bet from Mariano.

Lee called another bet from Mariano on the 2♥ turn, this time for 40,000. Both players then checked the 3♥ river.

Mariano turned over top pair with A♠ J♣ and Lee mucked.

Akihiro Yamada opened to 5,000 from under the gun and Tamon Nakamura defended from the big blind.

The flop came 2♠ Q♣ 7♦ and Yamada check-called a 4,000 bet from Nakamura.

Both players checked the Q♦ turn leading to the J♥ river. Nakamura bet 18,000, Yamada raised to 50,000 and Nakamura tank-called.

Yamada turned over a full house with Q♠ J♣ and Nakamura’s hand hit the muck.

A player limped in from under the gun, Alari Kunnapuu limped behind from early position and Juan Mariano raised to 8,000 from the hijack. Only Kunnapuu called.

The flop came Q♥ 4♦ Q♠ and Kunnapuu checked. Mariano shoved with a covering st ack and Kunnapuu, who had 26,500, made the call for his tournament life.

Kunnapuuu was drawing to only two outs and after failing to catch a three on the 3♣ 3♦ runout he made his exit from the tournament area while Mariano won the pot.

Jeong Seonghun opened to 5,500 from the cutoff, Seoha Lee three-bet to 16,000 from the small blind and Seonghun shoved with a covering stack. Lee, who had started the hand with 83,000, made the call and was at risk.

Seonghun was a big favorite with the higher pocket pair and he remained ahead on the 9♠ J♥ 2♥ J♣ 8♣ runout to send Lee to the rail and claim the last of his chips.

In a preflop confrontation Emmanuel Derecho was all in for 36,500 from the button and up against Seoha Lee who covered him from under the gun.

With two players seeing a board of 4♠ K♦ T♣ and 26,000 in the middle Juan Mariano checked from the big blind and Rancy Cyril Lee bet 15,000 from middle position. Mariano called.

Mariano led out for 6,000 on the 7♣ turn. Lee raised to 50,000 and Mariano tank-folded.

Ivan Tabucal limped in from middle position, Seoha Lee shoved for 78,000 from the hijack and Tabucal called with a covering stack to put Lee at risk.

Tabucal was a big favorite with pocket kings but the 8♠ 2♠ A♠ 2♦ 5♣ runout gave Lee two pair to win the pot to crack Tabucal’s kings and win the pot.

Juan Mariano opened to 5,000 from early position, Nikolai Babushkin three-bet to 14,000 from middle position, Rancy Cyril Lee called from the cutoff and Mariano called.

The flop came 3♥ 5♠ K♥ and action checked around to Babushkin who bet 15,000, forcing a fold from both opponents.

Lee had jack-high while Ambata had a pair of kings with K♠ J♥ to win the pot.

Seoha Lee shoved from the cutoff and Linda Nguyen, who was covered in the big blind with 40,500, made the call for her tournament life.

All three players had big pocket pairs but Tabucal was in the lead with pocket queens. He remained ahead on the runout to win a massive pot while sending Suya Lee to the rail and making a dent in Seonghun’s stack.

A player in the cutoff limped in, Jung Whan Kim limped behind from the small blind and Ricardo Torres checked in the big blind.

All three players checked the 4♥ 2♦ Q♦ flop leading to the 9♠ turn. Kim bet 4,000 and only Torres called.

Kim continued for 7,500 on the 6♣ river. Torres raised to 15,000 and Kim folded.

With two players seeing a board of Q♦ 6♦ 4♠ and 45,000 in the middle Renniel Galvez bet 11,000 from the small blind, Claude Henoud raised to 25,000 from early position and Galvez folded.

Pee Jay Aratea opened to 4,500 from the hijack and Seoha Lee called from the button.

The flop came K♣ 8♦ 7♣ and Aratea bet 3,500. Lee raised to 8,500, Aratea shoved for 35,000 and Lee called with a covering stack.

Both players had top pair. Aratea was in trouble with a lower kicker until the J♥ 4♣ runout gave him two pair to double up through Seoha.

With two players seeing a board of 4♥ 9♠ T♦ K♣ and 29,000 in the middle Linda Nguyen checked from the hijack and called a 10,000 bet from Jeong Seonghun on the button.

Seonghun bet 35,000 when checked to on the 5♦ river and this time Nguyen opted to fold.

Late registration has ended for Flight B of the Main Event. The second starting flight attracted 141 entrants and 60 players remain.

The action will conclude once 21 players remain at which point all remaining players will advance to Day 2 and be guaranteed at least a min-cash.

With two players seeing a board of 3♠ 8♣ 5♦ Q♦ J♠ and 25,000 in the middle Kei Shinagawa checked from early position and Taro Sakai moved all in for 21,700 from the hijack. Shinagawa called with a covering stack.

Shinagawa had a pair with 9♣ 9♠ but Sakai had turned top pair with A♣ Q♠ which was good for the double up.

Marlon Laxamana shoved for 5,400 from early position, Jeong Seonghun raised to 11,000 from middle position and Linda Nguyen called from the big blind. The flop came 9♣ 3♦ 5♣ and Nguyen check-called a 10,000 bet from Seonghun. Both players checked the A♣ turn leading to the T♦ river. Seonghun bet 20,000 and Nguyen folded.

Laxamana had a pair of nines with K♣ 9♠ but Seonghun had two pair with A♥ 9♥ to send Laxamana to the rail and take the pot.

With two players seeing a board of 9♥ A♦ 8♥ 5♦ and 24,600 in the middle Jung Whan Kim checked from the small blind and Shingo Horikoshi shoved for 29,500 from the hijack. Kim snap-called with a covering stack.

Junichi Murakami limped in from under the gun and two players limped behind before Tamon Nakamura raised to 9,200 from the big blind. Only Murakami called. The flop came 3♦ A♥ 2♣ . Nakamura bet 3,200 and Junichi folded.

Marlon Laxamana opened to 2,500 from early position and Kunwoo Dk Kim called from the button. The flop came A♣ 5♦ K♣ . Laxamana bet 3,500, Kim raised to 9,500 and Laxamana called. Laxamana check-called a 15,500 bet from Kim on the 3♠ turn before check-calling a 25,000 bet from Kim on the 2♦ river.

Kim showed A♥ 5♥ for two pair and Laxamana flashed the A♦ in his hand before mucking.

With two players seeing a board of 7♦ 5♥ A♦ and 19,600 in the middle Zhong Xun Hsu bet 8,200 from the small blind and Edgar Asehan raised to 18,000 from early position, receiving a call from Hsu. Asehan shoved on the K♣ turn and Xun folded.

With two players seeing a board of K♠ Q♣ 3♣ Q♦ 9♣ and 30,600 in the middle Alari Kunnapuu bet 15,000 from the big blind and Kimura Yasuaki called from the hijack. Kunnapuu rivered two pair with T♥ 9♥ but Yasuaki had him beat with A♥ A♣ for aces up to take the pot.

Marlon Laxamana opened to 2,500 from the hijack and Seoha Lee three-bet to 7,000 from the button. Laxamana called.

The flop came 3♦ 5♣ 7♠ . Laxamana checked, Lee bet 8,500 and Laxamana raised to 25,000. Lee called.

On the 6♦ turn Laxamana check-called a 28,600 shove from Lee with a covering stack.

Lee had turned two pair to pull ahead of Laxamana’s pocket jacks and he remained ahead on the 2♠ river to secure the double up.

Pamplona had two pair but was behind Aratea’s set of twos. The 7♥ river changed nothing for either player and Pamplona was eliminated while Aratea won the pot.

Rancy Cyril Lee limped in from under the gun, Andrei Vavilonskii shoved for 13,500 from the hijack and Lee called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Mac Mantos shoved for 19,900 from the button and received calls from Edgar Asehan who had a covering stack in the small blind and Juan Mariano who was in the big blind with a stack of 12,400.

The board ran out 6♣ A♠ 5♣ A♣ 7♣ . Mariano was good for the main pot with a flush and tripled up. Asehan had the second best hand with trip aces for the side while Mac was third best with a pair of fives and was sent to the rail.

With two players seeing a board of 7♥ 5♠ K♥ 4♥ 9♣ and 31,800 in the middle Kei Shinagawa bet 15,000 from under the gun and Hosin Seo called from the cutoff.

Seo showed T♣ T♥ for a pair of tens but Shinagawa had a set with 7♠ 7♣ to win the pot.

Tao Fei opened to 2,000 from under the gun and Yu Fong Chen three-bet to 5,000 from the hijack, receiving a call from Fei. The flop came 2♣ 6♣ 5♥ and Fei check-called a 5,000 continuation bet from Chen.

Fei led out with an 8,000 bet on the K♦ turn and Chen called. On the ah river Fei checked and Chen bet 10,000. Fei shoved for 21,500 and Chen called.

Fei showed top pair with A♣ T♠ but Chen had K♣ K♥ for a set of kings to eliminate Fei and claim the last of his chips.

At the runout, Kwok had turned a straight to take the main pot of 3,000. Lin had the next best hand with two pair to take the side pot while Arigai was left short-stacked.

In a preflop confrontation Albert Chung Hing was all in for 10,200 from early position and up against Sung Do Kwok who had him covered from the big blind.

The A♠ 5♣ T♦ K♠ 2♦ runout gave Hing a pair of tens to double up while Kwok was left with less than one big blind.

Takashi’s sevens held up on the runout and he scored the double up at Basilio’s expense.

Hosin Seo opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and Roxanne Sky Victorino three-bet to 7,500 from the button. Seo called.

The flop came 2♥ 6♦ T♥ and Seo check-called a 21,000 shove from Victorino with a covering stack.

Hosin Seo: 7♥ 6♥

Seo had a pair and a flush draw while Victorino was ahead with pocket aces. The 5♣ turn was a brick but the 5♥ river completed Seo’s flush draw to send Victorino to the rail and win the pot.

Esdaile’s pocket tens held up on the 2♥ A♠ 4♠ 9♣ 4♣ runout. Marcos mentioned that he had misread his hand and thought that he also had pocket tens as Esdaile took the pot.

Battulga was dominated and after finding no help on the 5♠ K♦ 8♥ A♣ A♥ runout he was sent to the rail while Hsu collected the last of his chips.

With two players seeing a board of 7♥ 7♦ T♠ 5♥ and 17,700 in the middle Ivan Tabucal checked from the big blind and Emmanuel Manny Santos bet 5,000 from under the gun. Tabucal raised to 18,000, Santos shoved for 33,900 and Tabucal folded.

Santos showed that he had flopped a full house with T♦ T♣ before taking the pot.

Both players had a pair and a straight draw but Tiu was ahead with his overpair. The 2♦ 6♣ runout gave Lee a straight but Tiu a full house to send Lee to the rail and win a sizable pot.

Hsu was in rough shape with just one overcard to Ganbold’s pocket jacks but he hit his king on the runout to double up through Ganbold.

Marvin Cerbito opened to 1,500 from the cutoff, Akihiro Yamada called in the small blind and a player called in the big blind.

The flop came J♠ Q♥ 8♦ and action checked around to Cerbito who bet 2,500. Yamada called while the big blind got out of the way.

Yamada check-called another bet from Cerbito on the 5♥ turn, this time for 5,200.

On the 2♣ river Yamada led out with a 6,200 bet that Cerbito called. Yamada immediately mucked his hand and Cerbito took the pot without having to show his hole cards.

Tan missed with A♣ K♠ while Mishra had an overpair. Babushkin had a better overpair to eliminate both players and take down a healthy pot.

Jason Ambata opened to 1,300 from the hijack and received calls from three players including Oliver Richert Kubalek in the small blind and Sho Saika in the big blind.

The flop came 7♦ 8♠ 3♠ and action checked around to Ambata who bet 1,500. A player in the cutoff folded before Kubalek check-raised to 6,300. Saika called and Ambata called.

All three players checked the 3♣ turn leading to the J♣ river. Kubalek checked, Saika bet 6,000, Ambata shoved for 7,900 and Saika called.

Saika had two pair with 8♣ 7♠ but Ambata had rivered a straight with T♣ 9♥ to secure the double up.

Seoha Lee opened to 1,500 from early position, Jason Ambata three-bet to 5,300 from the cutoff and Lee called. The flop came 9♠ K♠ T♥ . Lee bet 2,500, Ambata raised to 6,000, Lee re-raised to 16,000 and Ambata folded.

Lee showed that he had Q♣ J♠ for the nut-straight before taking the pot.

Claude Henoud opened to 1,500 from the button and received calls from Jester Intia on the button and a player in the big blind. The flop came 4♥ J♣ A♣ . The big blind checked, Henoud bet 2,000, Intia called and the big blind folded.

Henoud check-called a 5,500 bet from Intia on the 9♦ turn before both players checked the J♥ river. Henoud had two pair with A♥ K♠ and Intia mucked.

Sumay Mishra opened to 1,200 from the hijack and received three callers including Ryan Tan on the button. The flop came J♦ 6♥ A♦ and action checked around to Mishra who bet 1,300. Only Tan called. On the 6♦ turn Mishra checked. Tan bet 3,600 and Mishra folded.

Colada couldn’t connect with his overcards on the 6♣ , 5♠ runout. Kim was good at showdown with two pair and Colada was sent to the rail.
