Jonathan Studer Wins Showtime Hold'Em Event
Showtime Hold'Em
Blinds 10,000/20,000 Ante 20,000
The Showitime Hold'em final table is one for the books. Those players played for hours, not giving an inch. Certainly, the creative variant of seeing exposed cards makes everyone a bit more careful. But then, that's why there are increasing blinds to force the action.
In the final showdown, Jonathan Studer made the min-raise frmo the button with Lenart Ecarma defending his big blind for them to see a flop 4♣ 3♥ 7♦ . Ecarma didn't waste anytime shoving all his chips all-in with Studer flatcalling immediately.
Lenart Ecarma: 5♥ 4♦
Jonathan Studer: A♠ A♦
Ecarma hit midpair, but ran into the aces of Studer. The turn K♦ and J♣ assured the win for Studer to become the Showtime Hold'em champion.
Jonathan Studer takes home a first prize payout of PHP 154,500 (~USD 2,700) and the PokerStars spade trophy.
Lenart Ecarma bags a second place payout of PHP 100,500 (~USD 1,800).

Showtime Hold'em Final Table Set!
Showtime Hold'em
Blinds 1,000/2,500 Ante 2,500
The final table has finally been reached! With the creative format of Showtime Hold'em, it seems players are a bit wary of calling since the exposed cards from the other players show outs they may not hit.
The 9 players will have to play 9-handed, which makes the variants a bit more different.
Reaching the Showtime Hold'em final table are: Ryo Miyake, John Tech, Hiroki Nobayashi, Jungsik Choi, Chai Koo, Kenneth Anthony, Jaehyoun Ahn, Lenart Ecarma and Jonathan Studer.

Alvir Inocentes Crowned Deepstack Champion
It only took a few hands of heads-up battle between Alvir Inocentes versus Eiji Kanno did not last very long. Inocentes had a near 4:1 advantage over Kanno with a lot of leg room to be braver.

Eiji Kanno: 9♥ 5♦
Alvir Inocentes: 6♥ 7♠
Kanno was ahead with a pair of fives, but Inocentes had several outs with an open-ended straight draw and overcards. Inocentes rivers a straight and is crowned champion of the Deepstack PHP 1 Million Guaranteed event. Inocentes earns PHP 451,500 (~USD 8,100) and a PokerStars spade trophy.

Sham Wing Sheuk Wins The Kickoff 3M Guaranteed
The Kickoff PHP 3 Million Guaranteed
Blinds 150,000/300,000 Ante 300,000
The heads-up battle between Michael Calunsod and Sham Wing Sheuk was a tug-of-war. Both players were exchanging chip leads with all-in steals and all-in showdown after showdown. Eventually, it needed two consecutive hands from Sheuk to deliver the final knockout to Calunsod.
First was a showdown of Calunsod's K♣ 3♦ versus the A♦ J♣ of Sheuk. Calunsod made the push and the shorter stack Sheuk shrugged and made the call.
Board: A♥ J♠ 7♦ K♠ 5♦
Sheuk's two-pair doubled-him up to over 8,000,000 in chips with a four to one advantage.
In the final hand, Calunsod pushed with A♦ J♠ and the dominating stack of Sheuk made a confident call with K♦ 5♥.
Board: T♦ 2♠ 5♠ 3♥ 7♣
The pair of fives of Sheuk was enough for him to celebrate the win while Calunsod fell short at 2nd place.
Sham Wing Sheuk bags the champion's grand payout of PHP 830,000 (~USD 15,000), a PokerStars spade trophy and an Asia Pacific Poker Tour package that includes a few nights stay at Okada Manila and a seat to APPT Championship Main Event on October 24.
Meanwhile, Michael Calunsod earns a PHP 540,000 (~USD 9,700) for his runner-up finish.
It's Showtime!
Showtime Hold'em
Blinds: 500/1,000 Ante 1,000
Showtime Hold'em makes for an interesting strategy game. In Showtime, folded hole cards are exposed face-up for everyone at the table to view throughout the duration of the hand. It provides information for those still in the hand and gives a different way of affecting the outcome. It is usually played six-handed, so in a heads-up situation, there will be 8 cards exposed.

Mike Takayama was the chip leader with 5,200,000 chips after knocking out Gabby Concepcion, but ended up taking consecutive big hits to his stack to bring him to his knees. It was a big 1-2-3 punch that sent him out at 4th place.
First, Takayama doubled up Mike Calunsod when his 5♦ 5♣ got outdrawn by Calunsod's A♦ J♥ on a board of 6♣ 7♠ A♥ J♦ 9♠.

Sheuk rivers a diamond to make flush to overtake Takayama's turned two-pair. Takayama's stack drops further to 2,500,000 while Sham Wing Sheuk doubles to 2,900,000.
And then in the following orbit, Takayama at the button pushes with A♣ 8♣ with Sheuk calling with A♦ Q♠. The board runs J♣ J♥ Q♥ 7♠ 8♥ . The 38 Special!

38 players are still alive and going at it. 50 players started the final day, and the field is beginning to thin already. The short stacks had to end their run at some point, although there were also some surprise bust-outs as well.
John Matsuda sat in the middle of the pack with a healthy stack at 23rd, but busted out at 49th place. Ashely Patterson started the day 9th overall in chips but was sent to the rail at 45th.
That's poker. But it's not all bad news.
Gabby Concepcion extends his chip count to over 1 Million in chips, and is so far the only one with a million. Still a few lengths behind is Matsuda Michihiko with 630,000.

Cards Are In The Air!
Deepstack PHP 1 Million Guaranteed
The 19th Manila Megastack brings another "big money guarantee" event for poker players to dig into. This time for a guaranteed PHP 1 Million (~USD 18,000). So far, 28 players are registered with more expected to buy in before registration closes.
Some of the key players to watch out for include J Michael Shell, who was the champion in yesterday's Super Knockout PHP 10,000 Bounty. In June and July 2024, he won two championships at the 2024 WSOP PokerNews Daily Deepstack. Both were Limit H.O.R.S.E. Deepstack events at separate occasions.
Japanese poker pro Koji Takagi is also a force to be reckoned with. Takagi has over USD 270,000 in live earnings. His most recent championship win was at the APT Hanoi Billions, where he won a NLHE Turbo event.
