With the blinds increase and the short stack, Yilu Yuan knew this was it and put his tournament life at risk with K♦ 9♣ versus the dominating K♠ J♠ of Nicholas Michael. The board ran T♣ 4♣ 5♦ Q♥ A♥ giving Nicholas Michael a straight to send home Yilu Yuan at 11th place.

Nicholas Michael made a 175,000 raise from UTG+1 and was re-raised all-in for 440,000 by Ngooi Chin Hua from the big blind. Nicholas Michael made the call for a showdown.

The chip leader at the start of the day was Pham Bao, but a few big hits has reduced his stack to just around 300,000. Such is poker. The chip lead may help a player get deep in the tournament, but it doesn't necessarily guarantee a championship. There's still much poker to play, and maybe Pham Bao will bounce back.
