This could be where the tide turns.

On the button and holding pair T♦ T♣, Jing Su raised to 1,500,000, which Yuhan called with only J♥ 4♦.

The flop blessed Yuhan with J♦ 7♣ 2♦, transforming his dissonant hole cards into top pair. Yet Yuhan checked, Jing fired 2,000,000 into the pot. Yuhan decided to test Jing with a raise to 5,500,000, and Jing's response to that was to go all in.

Yuhan Liu Crowned Champion of KPC Main Event For KRW 224,255,000 (~USD 153,495)

The K Poker Cup just concluded its crown jewel event with the KPC Main Event crowning China’s Yuhan Liu as the champion after a miraculous come from behind win over compatriot Jing Su.

Yuhan Liu outlasted the 1,692 total entries and walked away with the lion’s share of KRW 224,255,000 (~USD 153,495).

THE ROAD TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP

There were a total of six starting flights that brought in a total of 1,692 entries to build a total prize pool of KRW 1,900,455,000 (~USD 1,317,050) that crushed the original KRW 880 million guarantee.

The top 187 survivors from those flight advanced to Day 2 of the KPC Main Event with each guaranteed a minimum payout of KRW 2,400,000 (~USD 1,645).

Russia's Maxim Sorokin entered Day 2 as the chip leader, but was only able to go as far as 36th place. The top 16 survivors of Day 2 continued their campaign for the Day 3 final where each were guaranteed at least KRW 11,500,000 (~USD 7,870).

Some notable players who failed to make it through to Day 3 were the likes of Tom Verbruggen (20th), Dylan Foster (25th), Aleksei Sei (31st), Yunfeng Wang (34th), Li Yang (81st), Haohui Ma (93rd), Andres Vasquez (103rd), Kevin Choi (120th), Jianfeng Sun (125th) and Chien Chih Weng (128th).

Leading the 16 players into the Day 3 final as the chip leader was Taiwan's Shao Chi Chang with 7,550,000 chips. Joining him in the top three were China's Yuhan Liu with 7,015,000 and Jing Su with 5,580,000.

It took nearly 4 hours before the field thinned down to the final table of nine. Start of day chip leader Shao Chi Chang was the unfortunate final table bubble boy.

FINAL TABLE ACTION

Entering the final table as the chip leader was Taiwan's Chen An Lin - a decorated player with over USD 1.8 million in total live earnings. Lin entered with a chip stack of 9,725,000 followed by Yuhan Liu with 8,050,000 and Qian Wu - the last woman standing - with 7,075,000.

China's Zengqing Zhao became the first to fall when his hearted ace-eight couldn't find a way around the pocket sevens of Liu.

Yu Ying Lin of Taiwan called off the rest of his chips with ace-jack and couldn't improve against the pocket kings of China's Jingwei Chen.

Bo Chen was silent throughout most of the final table action, unable to find any hands. Chen ultimately became short-stacked and ended defending his big blind against Qian Wu. Chen paired a two with his clubbed queen-two, but Wu's hearted ace-ten found an ace on the river.

Qian Wu would then be the next casualty in 6th place. Her stack gradually dip when she decided to do the wise fold against some four-bet pre-flop shoves against her. Eventually, she shoved her short stack with pocket eights, but lost to the ace-jack of Chen An Lin, who found a jack on the flop.

Fourth place fell on Chen An Lin in a brutal way. Lin made the right call all in with his big slick finding an ace on the flop against the nine-deuce of Jingwei Cheng. Cheng found a nine on the flop and was convinced it was the better hand when he shoved. Luckily for him - and very unfortunate for Lin - Cheng made two pair with a deuce on the river.

The luck of Cheng eventually ran out and gave him a third place finish. Cheng's stack was severely crippled when his two pair ran into the wheel straight of Jing Su. With crumbs left on his big blind, Cheng took a stand with his diamond-studded jack-nine only to run into the pocket aces of Yuhan Liu.

The third place of Cheng was an incredible result as this was his first ever tournament and a huge best career cash.

HEADS UP ACTION

The heads-up battle between Jing Su and Yuhan Liu had Su coming in with a near three-to-one advantage. Su had a stack of 35,000,000 against the 13,000,000 of Liu.

Su even wore down Liu to 2,200,000, while he held 46,000,000. However, Liu found a miraculous run that saw him double up then double up and double up yet again.

Liu finally overtook Su when his jack-four spiked a jack against the pockets of Su. Liu bet out on the jack, but Su felt his hand was better and shoved all in. Liu's hand held and came out with 35,000,000, while Su dwindled to 13,000,000.

Soon after, it was Su at risk with king-queen against the ace-ten of Liu. Su had hope when he paired his king on the flop, but a miracle three-outer ace blessed Liu on the river to crown him as the KPC Main Event champion.

Su walked away with a runner-up payout of KRW 169,000,000 (~USD 115,675) - his biggest career cash.

KPC Main Event Champion To Win USD 153,495

The K Poker Cup maintains the exciting momentum of the series with the conclusion of the KPC Main Event happening today.

Running from the July 25 to August 10, the K Poker Cup x King Poker Cup festival in the Les A Casino of the Jeju Shinhwa World Resort, Jeju, South Korea, has been bringing in loads of poker action attended by some of the best poker players in the region and the world.

The K Poker Cup Main Event saw a total of 1,692 entries take part from 6 Day 1 starting flights to generate a total prize pool of KRW 1,900,455,000 (~USD 1,317,050) that crushed the original KRW 880 million guarantee. The top 187 survivors from those flights combined for yesterday's Day 2 session with each guaranteed a minimum share of KRW 2,400,000 (~USD 1,645).

Russia's Maxim Sorokin entered Day 2 as the chip leader, but only managed a 36th place result. Other notable players who fell on Day 2 were Tom Verbruggen (20th), Dylan Foster (25th), Aleksei Sei (31st), Yunfeng Wang (34th), Li Yang (81st), Haohui Ma (93rd), Xiaoxiao Chen (100th), Andres Vasquez (103rd), Kevin Choi (120th), Jianfeng Sun (125th), Chien Chih Weng (128th), Chuer Ni (162nd), Yoda Lin (164th) and Dicky Tsang (179th).

Play went on for ten levels until the final two tables of 16 players were formed. Those 16 players continue their championship campaign in today's Day 3 final until a Main Event winner is left with all the chips.

Shao Chi Chang

Entering today's final with the chip lead is Taiwan's Shao Chi Chang with 7,550,000 chips. Joining him in the top three are China's Yuhan Liu and Jing Su with stacks of 7,015,000 and 5,580,000, respectively.

Each of the returning 16 players are guaranteed a payout of at least KRW 11,500,000 (~USD 7,870) with the champion taking home the top prize of KRW 224,255,000 (~USD 153,495) and the coveted Main Event trophy.
